Dining

Your heart will go on

C. Moon Reed

Seems like every casino with a restaurant offers Mother’s Day brunch. If Mom lives in Vegas, then she is probably sick of the same old. To break the mom’s-day monotony, we suggest something even older: high tea aboard the Titanic ... or what’s left of it inside the Luxor.

For $49 apiece (reservations required), the family can treat Mom to tea and the type of food ladies eat at wedding showers (scones, tea sandwiches, petit fours, cheesecake martinis, etc.). After brunch (served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.), families then “feel the excitement of that April day” with a tour of Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition. Nothing like brunch with death to remind you to thank Mom for giving you life.
