UNLV is getting a safety upgrade. Thanks to $1 million in new funding from the Nevada System of Higher Education, a call for help is a bit closer with the addition of more RebelSAFE emergency phones placed around campus. RebelSAFE phones stand out at 12 feet tall with a 4,000k LED area light. They can be used to request emergency help and report a crime or suspicious activity, and also double as an emergency broadcast system. Installation will begin in September with a focus on placing the phones near residence halls and high-traffic vehicle and pedestrian areas.
