With Nevada residents all staying home, everyone’s finding new and sometimes unorthodox ways of passing the time. And master-planned community Inspirada has joined that trend with its “Light Up the Night” campaign—urging its 12,000 residents to break out those holiday lights and decorate their homes.

Megan Conklin, lifestyle director for the Inspirada Community Association, said Inspirada had to recently cancel several community-building events after Gov. Steve Sisolak’s directive to maintain social distancing, and she was inspired by the growing national trend of putting up holiday lights.

“I wake up to messages every morning of more homes donned in holiday decor and notes of appreciation from residents,” Conklin said in a release. “It makes me so proud to work for a community that demonstrates strength, kindness and positivity when we need it most. We truly are ‘Nevada Strong.’”

Here’s a small added incentive for Inspirada residents: If you participate, you’ll be entered into a weekly drawing for Visa gift cards. Let the fun begin!
