The Lost Weeklies

Issues you never saw

On July 15, 1998, zapped by gigawatts of Greenspun juice, the Las Vegas Weekly lurched to Frankensteinian life. Stitched together from pieces of the fondly remembered Scope magazine, it lumbered around the countryside, scaring the villagers and inciting the occasional torch-bearing mob, until it finally learned to harness its unnatural powers for the good of mankind. That's how we remember it, anyway.

To mark the happy anniversary, we've decided to take readers behind the scenes, exhuming a half-dozen covers—one from each year—that we didn't print. Enjoy!
