Anxious seller seeks willing buyer

THE DREAM ZONE

with Lauri Quinn Loewenberg

I was outdoors watching some sporting event with my family. Suddenly, there was a huge explosion right on top of us! I felt the explosion ripple through my body until it dissolved. I also heard the sound very loudly, but didn't wake up until it was over. It felt so real!

Chris

Lauri: We'll dream of explosions and the end of the world whenever our own personal world, as we now know it, is ending. What sort of major shift is happening in your life? Your body disintegrated because in some area you're getting rid of the old to make way for the new. Perhaps there are physical changes. Sometimes explosions in dreams indicate an emotional explosion about to happen, a warning that, if you don't get rid of certain stresses in your life, you're likely to have a serious emotional outburst!

Chris replies: I did just have a baby and was having the dream before the baby came. We also just moved into a new house, so what you said about getting rid of the old to make room for the new makes sense.

We've had our house for sale since March, and have moved into our new home now. But this house isn't selling for some reason. We've done everything to this house; it's clean and nothing is wrong with it. Everyone who knows us and has been in the house can't believe we haven't gotten an offer yet. Not even a call. I don't know what could be the problem. Other houses in our neighborhood are selling but ours still sits. Please give me some insight; I'm getting desperate and broke fast.

Desperate in Las Vegas

Dear Desperate in LV,

With some small adjustments on your part, I see that your house will sell in June. There is a tradition that seems to work for people when they want to sell their house. Go buy a statue of St. Joseph, dip it in holy water and then bury it to the left of your front door (the left as you're standing outside and facing the front of your house). Sometimes it helps to perform a ritual that sets your mind toward a specific intention—for you, to release your "old" house.

Now for the common-sense stuff: Contact your realtor and explain the urgency of your desire to sell. If you're trying to shortcut this process by going with a non-major real-estate company or selling the house on your own, you're discovering the hard way that sometimes those methods don't save you money in certain market conditions. If you do nothing different, the house will sell in August. I think the other houses in your neighborhood sold because they have better representation, or are priced more attractively.

I'm 18 years old and getting married next April 15, 2006. I love him with all my heart but everybody tells me I'm too young. For me age doesn't matter, but I would like to know if he's the one. I don't want to get married and get divorced in a year or so. I'd like to know if he loves me like he says he does and know if he's being unfaithful. Thank you for any advice you can provide.

Miss Confused

Dear Miss Confused,

He's not the right one right now. If he's still around by the time you're 23, then he might be the one. I recommend that you get a college degree, date other men, and put this man on notice that you're not ready to get married. I don't think someone can authentically state, "age doesn't matter" until they've lived through more life experiences than you have.

Marriage is not something to do because you're of legal age to do so. The fact that you're worried about his being faithful should be a huge red flag. I agree with "everybody": You're too young to get married.

I moved to Las Vegas about eight months ago from the East. I've been working as a temp since I got here. I've sent out a lot of résumés and registered with a lot of agencies, and still have found nothing permanent. The money will run out soon and I was wondering if you could tell me if I'll get a job soon. I've been trying to get a job at the Venetian and some of the other hotels on the Strip. I'm an executive assistant, but nothing seems to be working.

Can you give me some insight on where I should be looking?

Hire-Seeker

Dear HS,

I have a good feeling with the Mandalay Bay Group for you. You may end up being hired in the catering, sales or special-events department.
