THE CONSUMER: Time to Ho It Up

Halloween in Vegas is no time to be coy

Jennifer Henry

Sexy cop? Naughty nurse? Maybe a schoolgirl .... I know what you're thinking, it's best to start with the stripper heels and work your way up.

Halloween is every Las Vegan's opportunity to flaunt their fetish-wears, and with party season officially upon us, it's an open invitation to push the envelope. Begging the questions, "What exactly qualifies as public nudity" and "Can body glitter substitute for pasties?", John Huntington and his crew of nightlife officiandos brought the adult-themed party circuit to Las Vegas back in 1997 with their Pimp 'N Ho Ball for Halloween night. Though Huntington is bypassing Vegas this year in favor of nearby San Diego and farther-away Orange County, he still set the bar and spawned a number of like-minded parties throughout the city—not to mention making pimps and hos popular costume choices no matter the party.

Nearly every club boasts a sexy theme for Halloween night, and of course, the infamous Fetish Fantasy Halloween Ball out at the Las Vegas Sports Center. Though sexy attire isn't required, Huntington suggests that you not be bashful. "The party is about people and if everyone is in costume, it just adds to the event," he texted from Baja, California. Agreed, but where to find the appropriately indecent attire?

Las Vegas' abundant adult sundries and lingerie stores have much to offer by way of fantasy costumes and sexy club-wear. But for those in the know—and by that I mean savvy strippers and local club bunnies—Strings by Judith is the shop for that one-of-a-kind naughty creation to suit your personal indiscretions. Touting a line of celebrated G-strings, Judith's has a reputation for excellence in covering just the necessaries. Maybe it's the glowing, hot-pink stripper silhouettes on the carpet, the black-light accents or the skimpy spandex mix-and-match tops and bottoms hanging in rainbow order, but the moment you walk inside, you feel a bit naughty.

Their dizzying array of lingerie and swimwear offers everything from camisole and hot pants combos to one-pieces that defy engineering logic. Most impressive is their focus on custom tailoring. With true exotic-wear couture, handmade on the premises and ready in three days, Judith's assures you that "if you can't find it ... we'll make it."

If you've got an appetite for debauchery, break out the stripper gear; it's Halloween in Vegas and there's no call for modesty.
