BEYOND THE ROPE

Jonathan and Shirley Lewis

Hometowns: Wheeling, West Virginia; Abilene, Texas.

Ages: 43, 47

Profession: Captains at Boa Steakhouse.

Profile: Jonathan and Shirley exude that sense of comfortable, secure allegiance to one another that every married couple aspires to. Which is especially good as they work, live and work some more together.

Why They Do What They Do: "I do what I am and what I am is a guy who likes to have a great big party every night." "It's the best of both worlds. I get to be part manager and part server, and we're also the key person to our guests, which is kind of cool."

Personal Tidbits: The Lewises own and operate the Las Vegas Cotton Candy Co. In June, they sold 18,000 units of the fluffy stuff, along with 16,000 specialty candied apples. If you buy cotton candy from Albertsons, you buy theirs.

Last Books Read: The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand; The Lincoln Lawyer by Michael Connelly.

Latest Accomplishments: Jonathan just completed his second bachelor's degree while Shirley takes care of three cats and one husband.

Quotes: "Get some!" (their company's slogan); "A day without five or six Diet Cokes is like a day without sunshine."
