THE DREAM ZONE

with Lauri Quinn Loewenberg

I had three vivid dreams. The first night I was in a bitter custody battle for my kids. The second, I was fired from my job, and last night I was giving my ex an enema. HELP!

Holly, 31

Lauri: Are you in a custody battle for your kids? If not, you may feel you're battling for custody of their affection. Divorced parents sometimes disparage their ex to their children, or overindulge their children out of guilt. Both behaviors come from fear the children might fancy one parent over another. Is this happening with you? Getting fired indicates that you worry you aren't doing a good enough parenting job and have a deep-rooted fear of losing that "position." Giving your ex an enema is not only hilarious but significant. Do you often wish you could tell him to "shove it up his a**?" Enemas help us make a bowel movement, so your dream might encourage you to do what it takes to "get rid of his crap!" Pardon my French.

Holly replies: I'm not in a custody battle, but I do share custody. My ex bad-mouths me to the kids, then passes it off as "teasing" when they tell me about it. I often want to tell him to "shove it!" I'd love to "get rid of his crap!"

ARIES
(March 20-April 19)

Mercury moves retrograde today, little ram. This isn't a good time to begin new projects. But make a wish and set your monthly goal while we are between the new and the full moon. Venus moves into your house of goals, so here again share your wishes and talk about your ideas. Jupiter moves retrograde on Saturday. You may see people slowing down a bit. As the week winds down, Jupiter warms up to the sun. This is a great time to work behind the scenes. The moon flows into Cancer, the sign it rules, so you might see a few Cancers feeling a little crabby. On Saturday, avoid revealing your knowledge in the business department. Too much emotion. Remember, you are a fire sign and combined with a grand water trine, that can bring on a steamy situation. Next week: a lunar eclipse in the sign of Virgo.

TAURUS
(April 19-May 20)

This week ends on a cool note. Jupiter sends a kind gesture from your department of relationships to the department of goals, hopes and wishes with groups, clubs or organizations. Socialize this week. Invite a few other little bulls to tag along. You could receive an award of some sort. Today, Mercury goes retrograde. This is not the week to sign contracts or begin anything new. Again, Jupiter goes retrograde on Saturday, and you may find a few of your Scorpio buddies slowing down a bit. Saturday is not one of the best days to talk business. We are between the new and full moon, so you may make a wish and set a goal or two. Next week, a lunar eclipse occurs during the full moon in Virgo. As the week ends, the moon will be in Cancer and a few of your buddies in that sign may not be in the best of moods. Go with the flow.

GEMINI
(May 21-June 21)

The moon will wander into your sign this weekend and should give you something to chat about. Venus enters sister air sign Aquarius. Share your philosophy and higher knowledge with someone. Now Mercury is retrograde, so avoid initiating new projects. You may notice some Scorpio colleagues slowing down in daily work as Jupiter joins Mercury in the retrograde tank. Saturday is not a good day for career discussions. We are between the new and full moon. Make a wish, set a goal. As the week ends, fire up the vocal cords. The sun gets a nice word from Jupiter and what a wonderful way to end the week. The daily work and the career once again dance a happy waltz. Next week will bring a lunar eclipse during a full moon. Your Cancer buddies are a little emotional with the moon in their sign.

CANCER
(June 21-July 22)

Mercury is retrograde. Don't begin new projects. Clear the deck and finish what you have already in your claws. Jupiter also goes retrograde, and this may put the brakes on your compatible water sign, Scorpio. This is a good time to work behind the scenes. Check on joint resources. The week ends with something nice from Jupiter. Share your higher knowledge, take time off, go to the playground or seashore. The moon in your sign Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday brings emotion. Remember, the moon is stronger in Cancer because it is the sign that the moon rules. On Sunday, Venus enters Aquarius and you can expect a little love and fun from others. Next week, the full moon will be in Virgo for the lunar eclipse.

LEO
(July 22-Aug. 22)

Saturn is in your sign as Mercury goes retrograde. This is your time to get organized. No new projects. The sun beams at Jupiter as the week winds down. You should feel great about other people. In fact, someone is working in your favor and you feel peace and harmony with them. Opportunities can flow your way. Jupiter goes retrograde on Saturday. Clean off your desk and get ready for new stuff later this month when the sun lights up Aries, your fire sign pal. Venus slips into your seventh house, bringing great business opportunities. Mars sends an opportunity to chat with others. Share your ideas. Meow about your hopes and wishes. This is your social time, kitty. Get out and share your knowledge.

VIRGO
(Aug. 22-Sept. 22)

Mercury retrograde is not the most opportune time to chat with the boss about daily work. Wait until next week when the full moon eclipse comes about in your sign. The universe never takes away what you truly need, so the eclipse may clip in something new you've been trying to analyze. You later-born Virgos will feel the eclipse the most, but when an eclipse occurs in your sign you will feel it more. Mars sends energy from the career department. With Mercury and Jupiter going retrograde this week you may feel things slowing down in the departments of communication and business. Venus pops in on Aquarius on Sunday. As the week comes to an end and things calm down, the sun gives a high five to Jupiter and the opportunity for communications opens up! Go with the flow, little Virgo.

LIBRA
(Sept. 22-Oct. 22)

Little peacemaker, put away the scale. The universe is sending Mercury retrograde. Don't try to balance any new projects. Clear the deck. Wind up unfinished business. Jupiter goes retrograde on Saturday and this is not the best time to communicate with your daily work. Coworkers may not be too friendly this weekend. Now is a marvelous time to work on projects you need to display next month. Venus gives you the chance to work on any creative interest. Venus sends a wink to your sun and love is in the air.

SCORPIO
(Oct. 22-Nov. 22)

Okay, Dick Tracy, with Mercury retrograde, clean off the desk and see what you can dig up. Saturn encourages you to get organized. Jupiter is in your sign and moves retrograde on Saturday. Here, little detective of the zodiac, you may experience a slowdown. This is no time to argue with people. Mars is action and energy. On Saturday, Mercury squares off with big business Pluto. This isn't the time to chat about money, power or big business. Back to the desk, dear Scorpio. Make a wish, set a goal or two. Something you'd like to accomplish later in the month when the planet Mercury, Mr. Communication, moves forward. The eclipse next week could clip in a new idea. Venus moves into the fourth house, bringing homefront happiness. There could be changes around the home.

SAGITTARIUS
(Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Mercury is retrograde and you may hear from someone from your past as Mars occupies your relationship department. Jupiter also goes retrograde and things may slow down a bit. That is okay, because Jupiter is an angel on your shoulder. Jupiter is your ruling planet and he moves into your sign this fall. Venus brings love and money talks later in the week. Fine-tune ongoing projects while Mercury is retrograde. You then have a clean plate to launch new projects. Expect the unexpected next week when a lunar eclipse lands in your career department. Venus enters Aquarius, and now you chat in a unique way. Pull out the pen and take a note or two. Pluto, the power planet, remains in your sign for a few more years. Yes, that's right, few signs get a visit from Pluto during a lifetime. Lucky you, little archer.

CAPRICORN
(Dec. 21-Jan. 21)

Make your wish and set a goal. Mercury and Jupiter both go retrograde this week, little mountain goat. It is not the time for new projects. Clear off the desk, rearrange the file cabinet and wait until next week. The first week of Mercury retrograde is the toughest. Saturn puts business talks on the back burner. Pluto, the big business planet, squares off with Mercury and even if Mercury were not retrograde, this would not be a good aspect for business ventures. The sun and Jupiter finish the week on a happy note. Now you share a few of your ideas with groups, clubs and organizations of some sort. Next week brings a full moon and a lunar eclipse in your sister earth sign Virgo. This should clip in good news. So your hard work may pay off. Now this should send you up the mountain one more time.

AQUARIUS
(Jan. 21-Feb. 20)

Venus enters your sign Sunday. This should bring a glow to your face. Mercury becomes retrograde today, joined by Jupiter on Saturday. Not a good time to begin new projects. You may hear from a few old pals. The moon visits Cancer on Tuesday, and a few of your co-workers may appear a little emotional. The sun teams up with Jupiter and this should light up the department of career and money as well as what you value in the career department. Okay, get ready. Next week sees a lunar eclipse in Virgo. This could flush out a thing or two and bring in the new. We are between the new and the full moon. You may indeed set a goal or two and really work on your goal so you can see it develop when Mercury goes direct. You're the I-know guy, but I wanted to share a few things with you.

PISCES
(Feb. 20-March 22)

Happy birthday. Mercury is retrograde, and a few people you are expecting may show up a little late. Jupiter winks at your sun and someone may bring growth, luck and opportunity your way. Jupiter moves retrograde and this, too, is okay. Jupiter wants to hang out, so others get the opportunity to assist you. Saturday isn't good for business. Big business Pluto, the power planet, squares off with Mercury, and this isn't an opportune time to talk about career issues. A few of your water sign buddies may want to swim in your pond. They feel a little emotional with the moon in Cancer. We're between the new moon and full moon. Make a wish. We have a lunar eclipse in Virgo and relationships clip in. Go back to 1987 if you're old enough. You'll find a hint of what to expect.
