THE DREAM ZONE

with Lauri Quinn Loewenberg

I'm an old lady and every now and then I dream I lost my purse and it scares me so that I wake up.

Carol, 82

Lauri: Purses are popular dream symbols for us gals and symbolize our identity, credibility and self-worth as this is where we keep our IDs, credit cards and money. To dream of losing your purse indicates you may be having a hard time locating the real you, going through an identity crises or even feeling a little worthless. Losing-purse dreams are especially common for women who've retired or whose children have left the nest, as the identity of working woman or Mom no longer seems as prevalent. Don't let these dreams scare you. Take them as a message from your inner mind that it's time to bring something valuable and meaningful into your life, such as volunteer work, taking on a challenging hobby or perhaps even working on your inner spirit. When you find something that gives you a focus and a goal, these dreams will stop.

LuAnne replies: It sounds like me and I'll heed your advice.

ARIES
(March 20-April 19)

Happy birthday, little ram. Spring starts on Monday, and you begin your birthday month. You're a cardinal sign, and seasons start in cardinal signs. Share the space with St. Patrick because Friday is his day. Two outer planets, Jupiter and Neptune, square off today and tomorrow, while Pluto mixes it up with the sun. This isn't a good weekend for business, so along comes St. Paddy, and what better opportunity to take a little time off? Monday is a plus day for everyone. Monday is also my day—International Astrology Day. The moon links up with your sun and Saturn, and all of you little fire signs are aglow. Cuspy babies arrive today. Early-morning babies are Pisces and late-afternoon babies are Aries, depending on where they are born. If you're celebrating this weekend, be ready for both Aries and Pisces.

TAURUS
(April 19-May 20)

The Irish and St. Paddy do a parade or two this Friday, so paint your horns green. Your sign rules Ireland, O'Taurus. Now this brings an opportunity to party. Why not? The business planets aren't bringing much opportunity for the next few days. On Monday, astrologers celebrate International Astrology Day, Aries begins a month of birthday celebration and spring arrives. Mars brings action to Mercury—while Mercury is retrograde. This isn't a good time to begin more projects. Finish unfinished business. Keep your words soft and tender in the relationship department, and don't tick off your club members. Next week, Mercury moves direct, so get ready to start new projects.

GEMINI
(May 21-June 21)

Friday is St. Paddy's Day. Wear green and you'll get lots of Irish smiles. The planets aren't in favor of new business. Clean off your desk; finish old projects. On Monday, your Aries pals begin a month of birthday celebrations, so expect to see a few little rams taking time off to party. Astrologers mark International Astrology Day on Monday. Spring arrives and the moon moves into the sign of the Sagittarians—the writers and publishers of the zodiac. Use your energy for writing and this could set you up for an award of some sort. Mars is in your sign sending plenty of action your way. Retrograde Mercury switches into direct mode next week and miscommunication and misunderstanding will no longer be problems.

CANCER
(June 21-July 22)

Pisces, the last of you little water signs, finishes its birthday bash this weekend, and don't forget St. Paddy's Day on Friday. The business aspects aren't friendly, so take time off and celebrate. Spring will be in the air on Monday, the day of the vernal equinox, when the sun moves into Aries. The air will warm up a bit and so will the water. On Monday, your Aries pals begin a month of celebration and astrologers worldwide observe International Astrology Day. The moon brings action to your daily work. Little crab, this is not the week to get emotional. Just build on your sand castles. Use your energy wisely. The devil finds mischief for idle claws. Watch joint resources. Jupiter squares off with Neptune at the 18th-degree mark. You don't want to walk in the fog, so wait awhile before making a decision. You may not have all the facts. Mercury moves direct next week.

LEO
(July 22-Aug. 22)

Little kittens and great lions have reason to celebrate Friday. You're the party animals of the zodiac. Sport your green and celebrate St. Patrick. Now your fire sign friends in Aries begin a month of birthday celebration this week. The spring equinox occurs as the northbound sun moves into Aries. My astrology colleagues will celebrate Monday as International Astrology Day, and I do belong to ISAR—the International Society for Astrological Research. Next week, Mercury will resume its forward motion. This is a great week to mop up all unfinished business and get ready to begin new projects. The moon will be in Sagittarius on Monday and Tuesday. Put your higher knowledge into action. Great time for writing, learning and travel.

VIRGO
(Aug. 22-Sept. 22)

Mars sends action from your house of career into your daily work. This isn't the best week to deal with coworkers. Next week, retrograde Mercury moves forward again. Polish off all unfinished business. St. Patrick's Day arrives on Friday and the Irish celebrate. You may celebrate, too. Pull out your little green shoes and head for the party. Invite a Leo. That's the party sign of the zodiac. Now get ready for Monday. The spring equinox signals the start of spring as your Aries friends begin a month of birthday celebrations. This week, some of the planets don't encourage new business or new projects. Enjoy this week for fun. Next week, you can analyze new beginnings.

LIBRA
(Sept. 22-Oct. 22)

All you little peacemakers, stow your scales and pull out the green. Enjoy a parade for St. Patrick. The moon is in your sign today, sending a wink to Neptune in the house of fun. Go out and enjoy a few of the things you have been dreaming about. This isn't a favorable time to gamble, but it's a good time for fun. On Monday, the sun moves into Aries, a more favorable sign for your Libra sun. Libra, it's your air that keeps Aries' fire ablaze. You're very compatible signs. Monday marks the spring equinox as Aries rolls in at the beginning of the astrology charts. Aries is your opposite sign, and you learn from each other. Happiness arrives on the homefront. Finish unfinished business. Next week or shortly afterward you may want to launch new projects.

SCORPIO
(Oct. 22-Nov. 22)

Sing happy birthday to your later-born Pisces pals who celebrate the last of their birthdays this weekend. Start off on Friday. Sport the green. Yes, a trench coat works as long as it is green, Mr. Detective. On Monday, your Aries pals begin their birthday month. The spring equinox launches their birthday season. The international astrologers also celebrate their day. And astrologically speaking, Aries is the leader of the pack, representing the first house of the 12 houses. This is a time for change. We just celebrated the first of the lunar eclipses last week and next week a solar eclipse occurs. Clear the decks and get ready to venture into new projects and new territory. Saturn is sending the opportunity to get organized.

SAGITTARIUS
(Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Don't shoot any arrows this week. Just have fun. Get together with a Leo. They're the party guys of the zodiac. St. Paddy's Day falls on Friday. Your Pisces pals will finish their birthday month this weekend, then Aries, your fire-sign buddies, begin a month-long birthday bash on Monday as the spring equinox arrives. You and Aries are both fire signs, so this should ring in a few days of fun. The moon hangs out in your sign on Monday and Tuesday and teams up with the sun as the party begins. On Friday, if you can't break away for a St. Patrick's Day event, just wear something green. Now finish old business. Get ready to launch new projects. Next week, Mercury moves direct and heads for your house of creativity, writing and fun. Sharpen your pencil and write the novel you've been dreaming about. The eclipses this month could clip in something you need.

CAPRICORN
(Dec. 21-Jan. 21)

Your Pisces friends end their birthday on Sunday, and on Monday, the spring equinox arrives as the sun shoots into Aries and triggers a month of birthday celebrations. Now St. Patrick rolls out the green. Wear something green and sing an Irish tune or two. This isn't a favorable week to begin any new projects. The sun lights up your homefront on Monday and many of you little goats may decide to move to a different mountain. Venus brings sweet talk to the table. Mercury moves direct next week and you'll be able to better communicate with those on the homefront next week. Expect the unexpected and clear the decks. Good news arrives and you could make a positive change. The eclipse last week could send you on a journey. If this hasn't occurred, wait until May 12.

AQUARIUS
(Jan. 21-Feb. 20)

I know you feel the chill in the air as the winter season comes to a close. We're between two eclipses and you feel the change. You're the intuitive one of the zodiac, as well as the genius. Now take the time to finish your projects. Your feelings are correct. You need to make room for life changes. Uranus brings the unexpected in the money department. Spring arrives on Monday and your Aries buddies begin a month-long birthday event. Astrologers celebrate their day on Monday. Did you know your sign rules astrology and astrologers? Next week, Mercury moves forward. Share a few of your ideas. Some of your relationships may be a little restricted. Remember, Saturn is sending you structure. Wear your green on Friday and celebrate with the Irish on St. Patrick's Day.

PISCES
(Feb. 20-March 22)

Happy birthday as you end your birthday month this Sunday. Make a wish for the next year and set a goal or two. A few of you may also salute St. Patrick on Friday. The water will begin to heat up as we celebrate the spring equinox on Monday and Aries begins a month of birthday celebrations. Venus brings love to the homefront. This is a great week to get down to business. Finish all your unfinished business. Mercury moves direct next week and the solar eclipse arrives. Plant a seed or two while the sun is in your sign this weekend, then next year you can harvest what you planted. Moon in Sag and Jupiter in your house of travel—so make plans for travel.
