Fashionista franchise builds on its signature style

As proof, inside every mall on the Las Vegas Strip is a brand boutique and for some an additional sport suite. That's a Bebe and Bebe Sport in the Dessert Passage at the Aladdin; a Bebe in Caesars Forum Shops; a pair at the Fashion Show Mall; and one alongside the Grand Canal in the Venetian. Six within a five-mile radius. Six! Each is similarly set, stocked with Bebe-brand essentials and staffed with those familiar and friendly fashionable femmes.

The trend talk is hot on highlighting high-end exclusives, one-of-a-kind wares that only the who's-who can get ahold of, but the street beat has been Bebe since before the turn of the millennium. Its bedazzled Bebe tee put the boutique on the map more than a decade ago but it's been the tasteful yet tacky threads that have kept them at the top.

Bebe's founder and chairman, Manny Mashouf, launched the very first Bebe to please the forlorn fashionistas in Frisco. Way back in 1976, the retail reins were held by major department stores, and young ladies in their formative fashion years were torn between the too-juvenile junior lines and bridge brands that often proved too proper. Mashouf saw the need for "distinctive and inspirational fashion bearing an unmistakable hint of sensuality," and so Bebe was born.

These days Bebe is still making waves in the world of wearables. Refusing to imitate the couture designers, a tired trend so many of their contemporaries are content to continue catering to, Bebe has a signature style that speaks to the sexy side of us all.

The stores are guaranteed to have gobs of track suits that put spandex-infused cotton to proper use, close-cut mix-and-match suit separates for every season and bejeweled booty denim. But a word to the wise: To collect their most mouthwatering pieces, those comfortable casual confections that catch your window-wandering eye, shop now or forever envy the girl who gets there first.
