3. Weezer, “In the Garage” (Weezer, 1994) “I’ve got a Dungeon Master’s Guide/I’ve got a 12-sided die/I’ve got Kitty Pryde, and Nightcrawler, too.”

4. Genesis, “Blood on the Rooftops” (Wind & Wuthering, 1976) “Hypnotized by Batman, Tarzan, still surprised/You’ve won the west in time to be our guest/Name your prize.”

5. Barenaked Ladies, “One Week” (Stunt, 1998) “Hold it now and watch the hoodwink/As I make you stop, think/You’ll think you’re looking at Aquaman.”

6. Pink Floyd, “Cymbaline” (More, 1969) “You hear the thunder of the train/And suddenly it strikes you/That they’re moving into range/Doctor Strange is always changing size.”

7. Jimmy Buffett, “Captain America” (Down to Earth, 1970) “He’s a lightning flash who makes the dash from one coast to the other/To stop a crime or lend a dime or help his aging mother/Captain America, we love you.”

8. Donovan, “Sunshine Superman” (Sunshine Superman, 1966) “Superman or Green Lantern ain’t got a-nothin’ on me/I can make like a turtle and dive for your pearls in the sea.”

9. Guided By Voices, “Matter Eater Lad” (Clown Prince of the Menthol Trailer, 1993) “First he started on furniture/Then he moved on to parking lots/Now he’s eating Ansonia/Now he’s eating Andromeda/He’s Matter Eater Lad.”

10. The Beatles, “The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill” (The Beatles, 1968) “Deep in the jungle where the mighty tiger lies/Bill and his elephants were taken by surprise/So Captain Marvel zapped him right between the eyes.”
