Dream Zone with Lauri Quinn Loewenberg

I dreamt that I was vomiting really soft dog poop. It was sticking in my mouth, and I would swirl my tongue in and around my teeth and cheeks to get it out. I’m not even sure how I knew it was dog poop; I just knew when I woke up. I dreamt this dream toward the end of summer last year.

Lauri: Something must have been going on at the time that you felt was pretty “crappy.” The fact that you are trying to get the poop out of your mouth points to a communication issue, something you were afraid to speak up about. It is also very significant that it was dog poop. That specific detail means this issue is about loyalty. Perhaps your loyalty toward someone is what was making it hard to speak up. Your dream was telling you that this was not something that should remain in your mouth. Let it out and flush it away.

Patty replies: Oh my! This makes so much sense. A little over a year ago my 8-year-old daughter came to me and told me my 14-year-old nephew had been sexually abusing her. Of course she used other words to explain it to me. My family (mom, sister and brother-in-law) didn’t want me to report it. When I did it caused chaos. My sister has not talked to me since. It has caused a lot of sadness for me and my daughter. It’s something that I think about every day. I have been having a hard time accepting the fact that I need to move on in life without the possibility to have her be a part of it. Thank you.
