Dream Zone with Lauri Quinn Loewenberg

My dream last night involved me and another woman in her home when a man knocked on the door. She opened the door. At the sound of his angry voice, I ran and hid behind a piano. He came into the house and attacked the woman, then walked out smiling. I came out of hiding and found the woman decapitated. I awoke shaking.

Lauri: When someone in our dream is angry it means we are angry at ourselves. Can you think of any reason why you might be upset with yourself? If not, then what else might you be ticked off about? You also hide in the dream, which suggests there may be something you are trying to keep private. The decapitation—while disturbing—is very important imagery. Has there been some sort of separation in your life recently, such as a divorce, the end of a friendship, the loss of a job, etc.?

Nancy replies: You’re right about being angry with myself, for who I’ve become: I don’t know how to have fun anymore, and cannot fathom what people see in me. As for the hiding part, I’m hiding how I feel about myself from my family and friends. I don’t want them to know how down in the dumps I feel. As for the separation, one should be happening. I have a friend, but am troubled how he alludes to being more than friends. I’m just not attracted to him and don’t trust him. I resent his intrusion on my time.
