Dream Zone with Lauri Quinn Loewenberg

I keep having dreams of watching plane crashes. The planes can be all sizes. Sometimes there is more than one in the sky. Sometimes I can only see the planes going down and the explosion over the trees. Other times I can see the plane actually crash. –Karen, 43, Hastings, MI

Lauri: Planes, to the dreaming mind, are symbolic of your goals and dreams for yourself that you hope will “take off” and soar to new heights; they are also your ability to reach a “higher” level than where you are now in life, career, relationships, etc. Each time you dream of a plane crash, it suggests that you feel one of your goals or hopes is not being realized. Those of us who tend to get our hopes too high rather than be cautiously optimistic get plane-crash dreams the most. The message is to balance out your hopes and goals with realism. Reach for the skies while keeping your feet firmly grounded. A tough balancing act, I know, but is more achievable with each “letdown” we face.

Karen replies: These dreams really make sense now. Well ... every time a guy would break things off with me is when I had those dreams. And now when I do have them I know why. The last one was pretty funny. I wasn’t really into this guy, but we dated for a few weeks. He was a hardcore Harley rider. Not my type at all. After we ended our short relationship, I had a dream about a black plane crashing. And it didn’t have very far to crash, either. Thank you so much for my eye-opener on that dream! Take care and keep up the great work!
