Hot Spots: DJ Logic at Vinyl, an Independence Day BBQ at Tao Beach and more

So logical: The eclectic DJ Logic spins at Vinyl this weekend.

DJ Logic at Vinyl Multi-night concert runs headlined by jam bands almost always mean ancillary shows for those music marathoners. Those not attending, needing a break from or having finished seeing Widespread Panic at the Joint on Thursday or Friday can pop into nearby Vinyl and catch a set (or two) by acid jazz/hip-hop enthusiast DJ Logic, who has extensively collaborated with improv acts like Medeski Martin & Wood, Ratdog and Moe. Live band Spafford supports. July 3 & 4, doors at 9:30 p.m., free.

4th of July All American BBQ at Tao Beach ’Merica! Celebrate the country’s 238th birthday at the Venetian party pool’s cookout, featuring a pig roast (!), beats by Eric D-Lux and a Ketel One open bar for guest-listed ladies from 1-2 p.m. July 4, doors at 11 a.m., $20 men, $10 women.

Ummet Ozcan at Drai’s Nightclub The fireworks outside will surely be the impetus to hit Drai’s rooftop club, but the headliner is Turkish/Dutch producer/DJ Ummet Ozcan, a new resident DJ for Vegas, but hardly a new presence in your ears. A survey of his tracks, collaborations and remixes online reveal some of the biggest electro house tunes of the past few years—and he’s bound to play a slew of them during his Independence Day dance party. July 4, doors at 10 p.m., $30+ men, $20+ women.

Build Your Own Bikini at Revolver Ladies get creative with their swimsuits for this annual contest; last year’s entries included a Monopoly suit (we think the Park Place card was on the right) and a ’kini made from a torn-up Bud Light box (recycling FTW). Enjoy the eye candy or liquid candy, as $9 Mason jar specials and $5 Absolut-Red Bulls complete the two-day bash. July 4 & 5, doors at 8 p.m., $5, free until 10 p.m.

Keys N Krates at Hard Rock Live The most versatile music venue on the Strip plays host to trap trio Keys N Krates’ first-ever Vegas gig. But lest you think this is just another DJ set, the Toronto act plays live drums, keyboards/synthesizers/loops and turntables to expand the boundaries of hip-hop-infused dance music. (Stream the dub-flavored “I Just Can’t Deny” for some genre subversion.) LA producer CRNKN opens with his slowed-down jams, influenced as much by The xx as Jurassic 5. July 4, doors at 8 p.m., $35.

Zedd at Encore Beach Club The Grammy-winning producer won for his own “Clarity,” but the beatmeister also hit the studio to work with Lady Gaga and (gasp) Justin Bieber (we’ll forgive him for that last one). Find him at Encore’s party pool Saturday afternoon. July 5, doors at 11 a.m., $55 men, $35 women.

Freedom Sundays at Liaison Though Liaison’s Independence Day Weekend will boast all kinds of celebrity hosts (Lance Bass), performers (Kimberly Cole) and circuit house DJ faves, gay Las Vegans ought to be most interested in the resurrection of Freedom Sundays locals’ night, featuring new Liaison resident model-turned-music man Nick Ayler. July 6, doors at 10 p.m., $20 drink minimum, locals free.

Art & Wine: A Perfect Pairing at Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art We’re usually at the bar for happy hour, staring at some flat-screen TV (World Cup!), but how about a midweek upgrade? The megaresort gallery’s manager of exhibitions teams up with the hotel’s master sommelier for this unique series, pairing select pours with works in the current Painting Women exhibition. July 9, 5-7 p.m., $30 for members, $38 for non-members.
