Gordo is back at Marquee, and then some. The longtime Las Vegas Strip resident DJ who recently evolved from the hard-charging party music of his Carnage persona to the more soulful, deep-house vibes of the Gordo moniker, has wrapped up a successful residency run with Wynn Nightlife and returned to a partnership with the Tao Group. He will be spinning all summer at Tao Beach Dayclub, Marquee Dayclub and Hakkasan Nightclub, starting with an April 30 gig at Marquee, where he has dropped some of his most powerful sets through the years. “Over a decade ago Marquee believed in Carnage and gave me a shot on the Strip,” he said in a statement. “It’s a crazy honor to return as Gordo and have the opportunity to play across all of Tao Group's incredible new properties. The best is yet to come.”

81/82 Group CEO and founder Ryan Labbe is partnering with the Venetian to operate and reimagine the resort’s acclaimed cocktail lounges—the Dorsey, Rosina and Electra Cocktail Club. Labbe has launched Summerlin’s La Neta Cocina and Chinatown’s Mas Por Favor in recent years and also opened the Barbershop at the Cosmopolitan. The three Venetian venues are now hiring new team members, but no other details have been announced regarding when other changes might occur.

The recently opened Rouge Room at Red Rock Resort has already expanded its programming with Rouge Cabanas, “an upscale, adults-only poolside experience” featuring eight cabanas, lounge seating, a dedicated bar and a special food menu, along with DJs. Rouge Cabanas are open Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., and will also be open Mondays starting on May 1. Reservations are encouraged, with more info available at rougeroomlv.com.

The Gold Spike relaunched its event series with some new themes recently, including Taking Back Thursdays, an emo-centric party, on April 6, leading into the return of the Down & Derby roller disco party on April 13. A new Battle of the Bands contest also launched last week and continues on Fridays throughout the month, culminating in a final competition on April 28. Returning events Playback Wednesdays, Cut A Rug third Thursdays and Dimelo Latin Night Sundays also continue to be featured. For more info or to book a table, visit goldspike.com.

Legacy Club at Circa continues its themed parties this spring with Studio 60, a ’70s-inspired bash on April 21 at 8 p.m., and a Derby Day celebration on May 6 at 2 p.m. Both events feature an open bar with specialty themed cocktails and live music, including the Marcel East Party Band at the Studio 60 party this month. Tickets and information are available at circalasvegas.com.

Sapphire Pool & Day Club, Las Vegas’ only topless gentlemen’s dayclub, opens its 2023 pool season on April 21 with music from Australian violinist Thmpsn and “Instagram vixen” Tahlia Paris. New daybed, cabana and lounge seating packages are available and include complimentary transportation and front-of-line admission. Sapphire Pool is open Friday through Sunday from noon until 6 p.m. and reservations and information are available at sapphirepoollv.com.

Daylight Beach Club at Mandalay Bay brings back its Neon Vibra reggaeton parties starting on May 6 with a performance by Puerto Rico dancer-turned-rapper Nio Garcia.
