On April 21, Resorts World Las Vegas welcomes the inaugural edition of Transfix, a touring immersive art exhibition billing itself as the world’s largest. Comprised of 50 large-scale art pieces installed throughout a 200,000 square-foot multi-level venue, Transfix will invite visitors on a journey through psychedelic tunnels and past kinetic sculptures, fire-breathing artworks and hypnotic video installations.

Featured pieces will include “Axion,” a light and sound installation by artist Christopher Bauder and composer KiNK; Kate Raudenbush’s “As Above, So Below,” a giant geometric sculpture that’s sure to be an Instagram hit; Pablo González Vargas’ “Ilumina,” a graceful tower of light; and “R-Evolution,” by Marco Cochrane, the artist who created Park MGM’s “Bliss Dance.” Works by Kevin Clark, Foldhaus Collective, HOTTEA, Playmodes, Christopher Schardt and more will also await, installed along the twists and turns of a two-acre “labyrinth” that will also include 10 artist-designed bars and speakeasies. Guests may spend up to two hours in Transfix.

It’s a cool get for Resorts World, which—between last year’s Psycho Las Vegas festival and the Enchant holiday lights, among other large-scale events—has demonstrated a real knack for hosting one-of-a-kind experiences. In an email statement, Resorts World president Scott Sibella says he’s “thrilled” to partner with Transfix co-founders Michael Blatter and Tom Stinchfield, adding that they hope to “elevate and redefine the immersive experience approach” with the show.

“Our aim is to elevate and redefine ‘immersive.’ We believe that interacting with art at this large of a scale can change the world by illuminating one mind at a time,” Stinchfield says, via email. And Transfix will spotlight individuals over the brand, adds Blatter: “Our goal is to change the way that artists receive recognition and compensation for their work. We founded TRANSFIX to create a platform that funds artists of all backgrounds to develop new large-scale artworks that would have never been realized otherwise.”

Tickets for Transfix begin at $59, and will go on sale March 15; the show will run at Resorts World through this fall, after which time it will begin a global tour. Visit transfixart.com for more information and some fairly mind-blowing photos.
