MISC: FILM: ONE FROM THE HEART REPRISE Deep in Francis Ford Coppola’s filmography, between Apocalypse Now and The Outsiders, you’ll find One from the Heart, a big-budget musical that features acclaimed performances by Teri Garr and Raul Julia, a score and songs by Tom Waits and a sumptuous look courtesy of three-time Oscar winner Vittorio Storaro. While the film is set entirely in Las Vegas, not a frame of it was shot here; Coppola rebuilt Fremont Street inside a massive soundstage. Perhaps that’s why the movie flopped, nearly bankrupting Coppola in the process. In any case, Vegas forgives him the oversight, and gladly accepts this 4K remaster of a forgotten work from a master filmmaker who has never been afraid to bet the house.
