Road to EDC

Road to EDC

PARTY: ROAD TO EDC It’s time to start thinking about Electric Daisy Carnival. We’re not talking about your tickets and your Speedway camping reservations; you’ve already taken care of that. We’re talking about getting in the mood, and the Marquee Dayclub Dome is the place to catch those vibes this weekend. Insomniac’s Road to EDC takeover returns for the President’s Day weekend, starting with a daytime progressive house session with Audien on Friday, February 16. But we are totally focused on this Saturday party with Tao Group resident Erick Orrosquieta, aka Deorro, a DJ and producer known for blending disparate electronic genres—very much like the EDC festival experience itself. Considering that Deorro’s working on a new, very personal album at the moment, we’re expecting some especially fresh tracks on top of the Cosmopolitan. 11 a.m., $20-$40+, Marquee Dayclub, taogroup.com. –Brock Radke

Tool

Tool

MUSIC: TOOL 8 p.m., T-Mobile Arena, axs.com.

MISC: FILM: ONE FROM THE HEART REPRISE Deep in Francis Ford Coppola’s filmography, between Apocalypse Now and The Outsiders, you’ll find One from the Heart, a big-budget musical that features acclaimed performances by Teri Garr and Raul Julia, a score and songs by Tom Waits and a sumptuous look courtesy of three-time Oscar winner Vittorio Storaro. While the film is set entirely in Las Vegas, not a frame of it was shot here; Coppola rebuilt Fremont Street inside a massive soundstage. Perhaps that’s why the movie flopped, nearly bankrupting Coppola in the process. In any case, Vegas forgives him the oversight, and gladly accepts this 4K remaster of a forgotten work from a master filmmaker who has never been afraid to bet the house. Thru 2/20, times vary, $10, Beverly Theater, thebeverlytheater.com

Dixies Tupperwear Party

Dixies Tupperwear Party

MISC: DIXIE’S TUPPERWARE PARTY Dixie Longate is a force of nature. The drag persona of actor and writer Kris Andersson is a fast-talking, gum-chewing gal hailing from a Mobile, Alabama trailer park. She captivated audiences in their homes during the pandemic with Dixie’s Happy Hour. And now, she’s coming to Las Vegas to regale us with down-home tales, raunchy jokes and food storage tips.
