If you leave and intend to reenter, make sure to scan out. Even if security says you don’t need to. Two members of my group were told not to scan as they exited through the Bunkhouse Saloon’s “back door,” then were nearly barred from returning when they came back and their wristband scanned red. —Spencer Patterson

Best place for a selfie: Walk through the art and learning center at the Western. Behind the building, there’s an installation featuring what looks like a wooden pathway. All the wood has holes cut into it, so different fixtures beam different colors and light into it regularly. It gives the appearance that you’re attending an outer space dance party. —Jason Harris

When you're really hungry, think nachos. Nacho Daddy isn't serving the fanciest food of the fest, but for $10 you get a massive portion of chips topped with cheese, barbecue chicken and fresh salsa. Seriously satisfying. —Sarah Feldberg

Watch your step. The grounds are filled with hazards, particularly the remnants of sawed-off metal poles, some of which extend considerably above the ground around them. The ones I saw (and nearly tripped over, in a couple of instances), were neither roped off nor lit up. —SP

The Bunkhouse isn’t the only business accessible through the back gate. Atomic Liquors and its rotating taps are, too, as is its adjacent sausage stand. —SP
