Neon Reverb’s Raw Femme showcase brings the power

LA-based rock band the Regrettes performs on Saturday.

Note: This showcase has been canceled.

Of all the intriguing bills built for Neon Reverb, Saturday’s Raw Femme showcase takes the trophy for most unique and genre-spanning. Hosted in partnership with Raw Femme—an online publication that spotlights the talents of emerging female artists—the all-ages showcase will mash up local music, fashion and art, inside at Downtown warehouse and design agency Inside Style. “It’s all about promoting musical diversity,” says Raw Femme founder Amanda Lozano. “Most music festivals are exclusively male—take Coachella for example. This is the first time in 10 years that a female is headlining that show. Seeing a woman [Lady Gaga] at the top of that roster [is] so refreshing.”

Free for children 12 and under, the event kicks off with DJ Crykit and a set by the School of Rock kids—students taught by local musicians throughout the Valley—and continues with Las Vegans Kaylie Foster, Brittany Rose, Jessica Manalo and Sunrise Manor. Touring alt-punkers The Regrettes perform at 8 p.m., before soulful singer/songwriter Halsey Harkins. And if you’re craving something louder, vegan local punks Moon Blood and Vegas fuzz-rockers Candy Warpop should close the night with a bang.

March 11, $15, 1119 S. Main St.
