There’s no shortage of rising stars in this city, and pretty soon, six acts will be chosen to shine at this year’s Life Is Beautiful festival.

The Downtown music fest will host an in-person Battle of the Bands competition at the Space on July 22-23 as part of its Road to Life Is Beautiful - Locals Edition finale. Since June, local bands and solo artists have been auditioning virtually via the live streaming platform Sessions, while festival judges and fans cast their votes. Now 15 top local acts will compete for one of the six spots on the Rising Stars stage at Life Is Beautiful.

In years’ past, local favorites such as desert honky-tonkers The Rhyolite Sound and soul singer B. Rose won LIB’s Battle of the Bands. This year’s talent appears equally promising with pop darling Ziona, East Vegas’ Desert Island Boys, saucy singer-songwriter Tanna Marie and many others performing their original works in hopes of earning a spot on the festival bill with artists like Arctic Monkeys, Gorillaz and Lorde.

Here's the full local lineup:

July 22: Ziona, Isolated Ave, DreamXmaker, White Noise, Sebastian Reynoso, Arrlo, Secos and Valley Of Fire

July 23: The Dollheads, Decaying Tigers, Reagan Capaci, Jared Summers, RechC (previous contest winner, not competing), Jae Douglass, Tanna Marie and Desert Island Boys

Road to Life Is Beautiful - Locals Edition: Battle of the Bands July 22-23, 8 p.m., $10. The Space, thespacelv.com.
