Stilettos, singing paperboys, the paranormal and a Depression-era redheaded orphan are coming to the Smith Center for the Performing Arts for its 2014-15 Broadway Las Vegas Season, which begins August 12 with Ghost the Musical and runs through May 31 with Annie.
The eight-part series celebrating Broadway past and present includes the Tony Award-winning, drag queen footwear spectacular Kinky Boots (September 4-14) and Disney’s Newsies (March 17-22, 2015).
Following Kinky Boots, with music by Cyndi Lauper and book by Harvey Fierstein, is Pippin (November 25-30), Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (January 20-25), Nice Work if You Can Get It (February 24-March 1) and Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella (April 28-May 3).
And anyone who didn’t get enough of Wicked when it was last here can rest easy. The production, which sold out Reynolds Hall in 2012, returns October 8 and runs through November 9 as an “add-on” to the season.
Tickets for the 2014-’15 Broadway Las Vegas series go on sale March 3 for current season subscribers and May 12 for new subscribers, followed by yet-to-be announced dates for sales to individual shows. For sales, contact thesmithcenter.com or 702-749-2000.
