The holidays shouldn't be the only time for charitable giving, especially when those gifts hit close to home.

On Thursday, March 12, Nevada's Big Give is back, a one-day-only annual event to benefit nonprofits around the state. Donors can browse causes by category, ranging from animal rescues to music programs to education, including well-known Las Vegas institutions such as Three Square Food Bank and United Way of Southern Nevada.

Donations start at $10 and the three organizations that raise the most money will win additional prizes of $1,000 to $4,000. Since the website's launch in 2011, 10,744 people have donated $1.4 million to 463 Nevada charities.

The drive lasts only 24 hours, but allows for scheduling beforehand. Give big at nvbiggive.razoo.com.
