There are few “firsts” remaining in the long and storied history of the Las Vegas Hilton, but one is being staged Friday night.

In what organizers are saying is the first show to feature every act currently performing at the Hilton (and we’re not to argue, as I can’t recall this ever happening), a benefit concert for Project 143 is set for Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Las Vegas Hilton Theater. Cost is $20 per ticket, and all proceeds go to charity. Tickets are available at the Hilton box office (call 800-222-5361) or go to the hotel Web site.

Project 143 is to reflect the 143 million orphans worldwide still without a stable, permanent home. It is a pet project of show promoter Jonathan Scott, who has managed to lasso cast members of LVH (er, Hilton, for now) productions “Nunsense” and “Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack Show.” Headliners Rick Faugno (“Body & Soul”), Greg London (“Impressions That Rock”) and Trent Carlini (“Elvis Lives”) also are donating time.

So are the forever-booming Paul Shortino, former vocalist for Rough Cutt and Quiet Riot; highly regarded vocalists Lisa Dawn Miller and Oliver Richman; and emcee Adrian Zmed (the same Adrian Zmed who was on “T.J. Hooker,” “Dance Fever” and starred in “Grease” on Broadway and “Grease 2” in film).

The event is a complete sampling of entertainment at the Hilton, easily worth that $20 ticket price. That the money is going to a worthy cause makes it a worthy investment.
