I was in a deserted town. On one side, people were burying skeletons in the street. On the other side were science labs which were closing. Some men crossed from a science lab to the other side carrying a white majestic dead horse, eerily lifelike. I smelled formaldehyde. –Mary, 27, Chicago

Lauri: The deserted town indicates that some area of your life is currently unproductive. The skeletons are issues from your past coming to an end. They are being buried because you are burying the past rather than holding on to pain. The science lab closing means you’re closing a chapter in your life; you’re no longer trying to figure out why, and have accepted the past as over. That horse is your ability to “get back in the saddle.” White is the color of new beginnings. It is lifelike because your dreaming mind is showing you that your strength is not gone. And the formaldehyde is not only a message to you to “preserve” and maintain your ability to move forward but also a play on words indicating that you must persevere!

Mary replies: That makes perfect sense! I taught for a year in Africa at an orphanage. Now working back in the States, I feel empty. I have regrets regarding co-workers I angered. I just have to live with the fact that I’m human and I make mistakes. I do feel bereft of strength at the moment, but I’m gonna try to persevere and preserve that strength and move on with my life!
