At most fashion shows, clothing is expected, but if we’ve learned anything about the Las Vegas art scene, it’s to expect the unexpected. Attendees of the Contemporary Arts Center’s Hot Hot Haute 2 fashion show at The World Market Center were reminded of this Saturday night.

One male and one female model decided to bare all for the arts.

Perhaps it was the unenthusiastic response from the crowd throughout the show, or maybe it was the abandoning of seats as the evening progressed, whatever it was, the models decided to take matters into their own hands and spice things up a bit. After all, who isn’t inspired by a bare bum now and then?

The show’s announcers didn’t seem to share this sentiment. They assured the audience that the impromptu flashing was not in the script. In fact, they tried to persuade the not-so-modest male model to either cover up a bit or get off the stage, but to no avail. On the contrary, he seemed encouraged. He pranced across the catwalk proudly presenting his gifts from God in all their glory. When a few women in the front row (who had apparently taken a liking to the cocktail portion of the evening) requested a closer look at his pierced penis he turned, grinning mischievously, to the hosts and shouted, “Can I auction off my ball sac?”

The female model, went just as bare, but had a bit more reserve. She coyly strutted her stuff and exited the stage with only a side-ways glance at the hosts.

As for the wearable art items that were actually up for auction, while creative, they failed to draw as strong a reaction as the full frontal nudity.

Maybe next year CAC can embrace the nakedness and replace the catwalk with a stripper pole.
