Red Hot Chili Peppers For the first time in seven years, Anthony Kiedis & Co. are playing a public show in Vegas, and on New Year’s Eve, no less. General admission tickets for the Cosmo show have long been sold out, but you can still get in by purchasing a table. 9 p.m., the Chelsea, Cosmopolitan, 698-7000.
The Black Keys Blues-rock boys Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney take over the Joint for back-to-back shows to close out 2012. And at press time, tickets were still available for NYE. With Divine Fits, December 30-31, 9:30 p.m., $95-$171, the Joint, Hard Rock Hotel, 693-5000.
Queensrÿche The prog-metal rockers headline Fremont Street Experience’s Downtown Countdown, which features nine hours of live entertainment from Buckcherry, Quiet Riot, Otherwise, Yellow Brick Road and more, on multiple stages. 6 p.m., $40, $30 locals, vegasexperience.com/newyearseve.
Gary Allan The country veteran (and former car salesman) rings in 2013 at the House of Blues along with “red dirt rockers” Beau & The Outfit. 10 p.m., $79-124, House of Blues, Mandalay Bay, 632-7600.
