In honor of National Rum Day on August 16, we suggest these three rums for your sampling pleasure. Try them in a classic cocktail, on the rocks or however makes your backyard feel like paradise.

  Named after Miguel de Cervantes’ Don Quixote, Don Q is the best-selling rum in Puerto Rico. The award-winning white rum Cristal is made with sugar cane and aged in American white oak. It has a clean, light flavor that makes it ideal for cocktails.

  Drink it: In a cocktail. Blend it into a piña colada, stir it in a daiquiri, or add it to muddled mint and fresh fruit for a refreshing mojito.
