The dog days of summer are here. Take a breather, wipe your brow and cool down Carnevale-style.
At first glance the Silent Serenade ($13), which is available at all Palazzo and Venetian casino bars throughout the three-month Carnevale celebration, is not particularly glamorous. It’s yellow, served in a martini glass and not exactly eye-catching. But one sip after another will carry you through layers of herbs and citrus, stimulating olfactory arousal. Beverage director Philippa Hayes says, “The Silent Serenade will sing to you all night. The Tuaca adds a gentle depth to the uplifting citrus of the limoncello, which is sweetened by the smooth lemon thyme syrup.” Sounds like one sweet song.
Ingredients:
1½ oz. Belvedere vodka
½ oz. lemon thyme syrup
½ oz. limoncello
1 oz. Tuaca
splash fresh lemon juice
lemon twist (garnish)
Method: Add ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.
