Embarrassment of club riches

OK KIDS, THE countdown for 2004 has begun, and the best party night of the year is rearing up. Let's skip the jokes and pleasantries, and get right down to business.

Risqué at the Paris has Funk Master Flex and Playboy's 50th anniversary Playmate, DJ Colleen Shannon. Also on the bill are Five Star, Kris Kut, Aaron Paar, Jeff Bomb and Erphun. All that, plus complimentary sushi from the Ah-sin Restaurant.

Over at OPM at the Forum Shops at Caesars is the Velvet New Year's, with DJ Aero, from Tony Hawks Boom Boom Huck Jam Tour, and DJ Hurricane of the Beastie Boys. The night is hosted by Dave Johnson from Survivor: The Amazon and showgirls Christina and Season from the Luxor's Midnight Fantasy. OPM is also promising a money drop at midnight!

The House of Blues at Mandalay Bay has The Crystal Method, Donald Glaude, the Goo Goo Dolls, and most importantly, a super-sexy countdown with the one and only Shannon Elizabeth of American Pie fame. Also on the bill are DJs Faa'rsheed, D-Mixx, Robert Oleysyck, Erick Rumors, Todd Richman, Joshua Adam, Bjorn Burton, Liaunt and Anthony Mazeika.

Girls Gone Wild and DJ Kid Capri invade Bikini's at the Rio. Channel 8 will be switching live to Bikini's for the midnight countdown.

It's the Masquerade Mansion at Curve inside the Aladdin, with Playboy Playmate DJs Diamond and Tatiana. Local IDs get you $50 discounted tickets.

Downtown, the party's at Jillian's inside Neonopolis. Catch Slammin' Steve on the decks, plus a live filming and casting call for the new MTV show, The Reality Bar Crawl, with appearances by Abram and Donell from Road Rules: South Pacific and Las Vegas' own Christina Trainor, Maxim's Hometown Hottie Monica White, and Playboy Playmate Crista Nicole. Throw in bikini bull-riding, a celeb bowling contest and a free $50 video-game card for good measure.

In Summerlin, ultra-lounge and restaurant Plush at the Rampart Casino opens its doors, with DJs Hollywood and Javier Alba.

Drai's, Rain, Venus and Prana all have special gigs. Seven and Alesium have DJs David Christian, Yuda and Hollywood. Ra has a New Year's edition of Pleasuredome, with DJs Duane King, Phaness, Create, Jeremy Wood, Warren Peace, and Mr. Bob. Ice has the legendary Grandmaster Flash, along with DJs Frank Richards and Justin Hoffman. And expect an extravaganza at Studio 54, as it unveils new redesigns with master of ceremonies, DJ Frankie.

I guarantee that pretty much any party you hit will be something else. Expect big crowds and loads of fun. Also, be sure to call ahead and get your tickets early. Trust me, you'll thank me for later. And, for God's sake, people, remember cabs are your friends. The life you save by not driving around trashed might be mine!
