ARIES
(March 21-April 20)

Your astrology chart is a big pie with 12 sections, called "houses." Aries inhabits the First House of self. Ruled by assertive Mars, the First is how people see you, making you appear childlike, self-assured, or self-absorbed. You could be an egomaniac, but other aspects in your chart surely soften that view. (Note: There's an awesome Mars in the sky now, to reach full-Moon proportions by August 27. It may be making some rams restless or moody.). Love: comforts you; Career: directed; Health: take care of you (that's not being self-centered, just smart).

TAURUS
(April 21-May 21)

I like to say that an astrology chart tells everything about you, "even your shoes." The Second House (home to Taurus) is not only about shoes, but all the stuff you surround yourself with, your sacred possessions. It's also about income, and your labors. Venus, planet of the arts and love, is your planetary ruler, so your bullpen always looks (and feels) nice. Right now, Venus is in Virgo (another earth sign, ruled by Mercury, planet of thought), and lends cleverness to making (and holding onto) the goods. Love: wow! Career: take the moolah and run; Health: kick back.

GEMINI
(May 22-June 21)

The Third House of communications is your dwelling place, Gemini. Books, writing, speaking, teaching, siblings and short travel are the subjects of this Mercury-ruled slice of an astrology chart. Mercury's the messenger, who changes with the wind, and your moods. You crave variety, hate to be bored and wish you could zip your lip when a sassy zinger begs to be applied to a person fitting the description of "a--hole." With Mercury in Leo, your dry wit will be sorely tested in this area for the next 2.5 years. Love: cute; Career: trade up; Health: optimal.

CANCER
(June 22-July 22)

Astrology's Fourth House—literally the house of home and family—is where you live. Motherhood's there, too. Your ruler, the Moon, is often referred to as the "Great Mother." The Fourth is about the sentimental and private, and, depending on other planets in your chart, where your heart is. This week, Moon in Pisces is a good mom, delivering a home-cooked weekend, including two delicious sextiles. You'll feel safe and cozy, and be a grateful child (at least through Sunday). Love: gracious; Career: it's hatching; Health: is anything all right?

LEO
(July 23-Aug. 23)

In an astrology chart, Leo lives in the Fifth House of romance, creativity, drama, children and fatherhood. Leo will be challenged by Saturn, the lesson-giver, for the next 2.5 years. You'll climb some big trees, hone your talents during this intriguing interlude, and emerge from your lair a sleeker, mellower cat, no doubt with a big salary that rewards the talented artist/photographer/ actor/ screenwriter and hustler everyone's always known you to be. Love: out of the blue; Career: go for it; Health: be a lean, mean machine —excise excess.

VIRGO
(Aug. 24-Sept. 22)

Work, health and service are the subjects of The Sixth House, Virgo's home in an astrology chart. Doctors, nurses, yes, even cable guys live there. Virgo's ruled by Mercury, planet of communications. (It went direct on August 15, in plenty of time for your happy birthday). Once, I read for identical Virgo twins, a therapist and a news anchor. When asked about the charts of twins I just say, "There's a lot more to astrology than what's in a weekly horoscope." Love: unavoidable; Career: cash in; Health: take your own advice.

LIBRA
(Sept. 23-Oct. 23)

The Seventh House of marriage and partnership is the abode of Libra. Love, mating, and even business partnerships are the cause of many heartaches, I've found. But you, who are relationship-conscious, will be happy to note that Venus, planet of love and your zodiacal ruler, just entered Libra until September 11. You should find yourself well-acquainted with Cupid during this period, so magnetize your adorable other to you by putting out the welcome mat for ... Love: here and now; Career: yes, you were justified; Health: essential oils ease the blues.

SCORPIO
(Oct. 24-Nov. 22)

The Eighth, your house in astrology, is complex. Its subjects vary from death and taxes to inheritances and the occult. Called the "house of transformation," Mars co-rules it (with Pluto), and you feel the heat now as the red planet is the closest to the Earth it's been in 100 years. Watch it grow through the month, until it becomes nearly full Moon-size August 27. You might want to blast Adam Sandler's "Werewolves In London" that night, in tribute to a major Martian moment. Love: enriches; Career: go deeper; Health: looking up.

SAGITTARIUS
(Nov. 23-Dec. 20)

The Ninth House is your domain in a natal astrology chart. Travel, spirituality, religion, publishing, government; these subjects are grist for the Ninth House mill. Presided over by Jupiter, god of luck and fortune, you have it all over the other signs when it comes to landing on your feet, even when life becomes dicey. While Mercury was retrograde, many Ninth House inhabitants suffered a bit of jet lag. Now you're back up to your usual speed. Love: groovy; Career: even on the back burner, it cooks; Health: don't hold back, it's not your style.

CAPRICORN
(Dec. 21-Jan. 20)

Career and public status are the subjects of the 10th House, your home in a birth chart. Literally, it's the "chart-topper," imbuing Caps with a sense of social conscience and ambition. You're the strivers of the Zodiac, climbing, climbing to the pinnacle of your life's work. With Saturn in Leo, the climb may cause perspiration, but since Saturn's your planetary ruler, the hard work's sure to pay off. You guys know how to go the distance; you're our inspiration, so don't let us down. Love: hold on; Career: ramp up the fight music; Health: rugged.

AQUARIUS
(Jan. 21-Feb. 18)

Aquarius claims residence in the 11th House of friends, worldwide bodies like the United Nations and the Internet and astrology. (Most Aquarians probably understand this column.) Eleventh House subjects are up for everyone now, and influenced by Neptune, planet of illusions and fantasies. Things seem "airy-fairy," making you prone to your dizzy spells. But Neptune in Aquarius also confers the ability to make dreams come true (all the way up to February, 20012). Love: fantasize; Career: keep making magic; Health: stop now and then.

PISCES
(Feb. 19-March 20)

Your sign lives in the watery 12th House of secrets and "self-undoing," an arcane expression basically meaning how one sabotages oneself. It's also the house of the psychic, the subconscious and, too, institutions (like jails and hospitals). Jailbird Charles Manson had Uranus (planet of quick-change) in Aries (sign of self) in the 12th, indicating a lack of impulse control. You, however, are probably farsighted, a visionary, or a Freudian therapist. Love: don't screw it up; Career: pay attention; Health: trust your constitution.
