THE DREAM ZONE

with Lauri Quinn Loewenberg

Several years ago, I dreamt I was in the Old West and walked through saloon doors; standing at the bar was the man I had a huge crush on (we're now somewhat involved), but he was dressed as a woman, wearing a dress, cowgirl boots and red lipstick. What do you think?

Cindy, 45

Lauri: Ha! I can see this has really got you wondering! Unless you think this man might swing both ways—like the saloon doors—this dream was actually a pretty good sign. It's showing you he has a sensitive side—a very good thing in a man. He may act tough, but this dream shows you could see right through it. Doors in dreams almost always represent an opportunity available to us, so walking through the doors in your dream is how your inner mind lets you know there's an opportunity with this guy and the best way to him is through his sensitive side. Now that you've gotten to know him a bit better, would you say he's pretty in-tune with his nurturing, sensitive self?

Cindy replies: He does put on a very masculine, aloof front, but deep down he's pretty sensitive and thoughtful. Thanks for the interpretation—I think you're right on.

ARIES
(March 21-April 20)

With Mars (your planetary ruler) in Aries through the weekend, and going direct on Friday, you'll march to the tune of your own drummer for the first time in weeks. Mercury's direct, too, and in fire sign Sagittarius on Tuesday, so you'll be calling the shots about your career and finances and getting the support you need to take care of old business in a new, interesting way. In other words, there'll be little opposition to your ideas, so leave doubt behind and go for the gold in a big way. Love: applauds you; Career: you're hired; Health: be bold.

TAURUS
(April 21-May 21)

Mars goes direct tomorrow (Friday), an auspicious moment for you, since it's in Taurus. It'll be like Pamplona out there, and luckily for you, you're one of the bulls. I suggest you get in the running, even as we speak. You don't want to miss out on the fun. Don't worry about trampling the reckless people who get in your way. After all, it's your right to go full- boogie-tilt after a frustrating, static siege. A Taurus kept penned up for too long is one raging ... well, you know. Love: in pursuit; Career: get goin'; Health: no one's faster, so prove it.

GEMINI
(May 22-June 21)

You have much to be happy about now that the planet of thought (come Monday) and Mars are direct. It's torture when your mental faculties are stalled, but that's all behind you now. This week, there's more pleasure to be had, with Mars in Taurus (which you sextile) going direct as well. Tuesday and Wednesday, Moon's in your sign and trines Venus and sextiles Saturn, so romance and work (perhaps both with a Taurus) are headed for certain success. Love: be accessible; Career: new ideas get imple-mented; Health: it's time to add one more rep, step or pose.

CANCER
(June 22-July 22)

Today (Thursday), relationships and work come easily to you as Moon in Pisces trines Mercury (now direct) and sextiles Venus. On Friday, life seems to surge forward as Mars goes direct, in Taurus, firming up thoughts and allowing you to implement career options that have been on the back burner for a while now. Monday, as Mercury enters Sagittarius, you may find you've got an urge to travel, or begin planning a winter vacation to a faraway place you've long wanted to see. Love: invite it along; Career: taking care of itself; Health: you underestimate it.

LEO
(July 23-Aug. 23)

Mars goes direct Friday and Mercury enters Sagittarius on Tuesday, so life will be easier and more manageable. Saturn is in Leo, which has slowed you down somewhat, but this month is presided over by your element, fire, meaning you'll get back some of your zest and move forward with projects and activities that seem to have stalled. Travel plans come to fruition, and you'll find yourself flying right to your destination, glitch-free. Love: soon you'll be together; Career: you've arrived; Health: believe in your power to heal yourself.

VIRGO
(Aug. 24-Sept. 22)

With Mars direct and Moon in Taurus (your fellow earth sign) from early Sunday morning through midday Wednesday, it's just about a given that you'll be successful in all your endeavors at work and play this week. On Tuesday, Moon trines Venus for a romantic experience that promises to have pleasant, long-term consequences. Don't tell the wrong people about it, however, as Moon opposes Mercury later that day. Someone could be envious, and try to change your mind. Love: seize the day; Career: you get a boost; Health: love is the best medicine for what ails you.

LIBRA
(Sept. 23-Oct. 23)

Moon in Gemini trines Venus on Tuesday and sextiles Saturn on Wednesday, giving you the edge in both work and relationship matters. When air signs are in the their element, they make beautiful music with other air signs, so keep an eye out for that charming Gemini in the next cubicle, or the sensitive Aquarius rounding the corner with his/her arms loaded with papers. When they smile at you, be sure to smile back. And be sure to wow them with your own brainy (and witty) feedback. Love: ascloseasthis; Career: stay tuned for a big announcement; Health: remain calm but alert.

SCORPIO
(Oct. 24-Nov. 22)

Today (Thursday) into early Friday, you'll be surprised at how much you accomplish, since Moon sextiles Venus and trines Mercury and Saturn. People take to your ideas with alacrity, and put some of them into action. You'll wonder how it all happened so fast. Part of it is the union of Saturn and Venus (work and popularity) and part of it is that Mars (in Taurus) goes direct on Friday. Since Taurus is your opposite sign, you'll find that the dam has broken and life is once again a wondrous, thundering waterfall. Love: make up for lost time; Career: pours; Health: flows.

SAGITTARIUS
(Nov. 23-Dec. 20)

Mars goes direct Friday in Taurus, promising financial gain, and Moon's in Aries throughout the weekend, so all fire signs benefit from the high lunar energy. Mercury will be direct on Monday in Sagittarius, giving you an extra shot in the arm for getting your Christmas shopping done early or simply buying yourself some well-earned gifts after a financially sluggish past three weeks. You'll be zooming this week, and isn't it about time? Love: have a blast with it; Career: back on top; Health: if you're drinking, make some of it green tea.

CAPRICORN
(Dec. 21-Jan. 20)

With Mars rolling forward again after a sluggish retrograde (in Taurus, the sign of money), there'll be a payoff for you in the coming weeks. You'll either get the job, a raise or the boss' son/daughter. In any case, you'll soon be more prosperous, and Capricornian perseverance pays off. Moon's in fellow earth sign Taurus, from Sunday through early Tuesday morning, at which point Moon trines Venus, which happens to be in your sign for another few days. The icing on the cake is—Love: loves to love you, baby; Career: happens again very soon; Health: believe.

AQUARIUS
(Jan. 21-Feb. 18)

Yours is the sign of harps, violins and other heavenly instruments. As Mercury goes direct Monday, you'll hear the angels sing, but give it a day before you start warbling back. Moon that day also squares Neptune in Aquarius, so you might sound out of tune. You'll have your chance to wax lyrical (and in perfect pitch) on Tuesday, as Moon's in Gemini, with which you are eminently compatible. If someone you know born under that sign has a lovely voice, join in. This could be the start of something big. Love: don't refrain; Career: expect sweet news; Health: kick back.

PISCES
(Feb. 19-March 20)Today (Thursday) and tomorrow, you'll feel freed up as Mars goes direct in Taurus. This could have a landslide effect, but don't fight it. Allow yourself to go with the flow and you'll pour out into a lovely tributary you may have been (wrongly) avoiding. It should look like this: clear, sparkling water, beautiful creatures beckoning, perhaps a mermaid or mer-man with whom to wile away the hours. Give in to your sensuous nature and leave the cares of the old, muddy past behind. It's your turn to shimmer. Love: you don't have to work for it; Career: arranges itself perfectly; Health: gently stretch.
