Globe Salon offers world’s worth of services

Countdown to 2006 and it's officially the future. True, Skycar hasn't hit the assembly line yet, only Kylie can pull off the silver boots and sparkly miniskirt look, and we're the ones watching Big Brother 5, but in the future everyone has cool gadgets, cooler clothes and the coolest hair. With cell phones that do everything but your laundry and Vegas' boutique biz bursting at the seams, you've got the technology and the duds covered but for a 'do that promises to keep you current, see local favorite Globe Salon.

Launched at Halloween 2000, Globe Salon has quickly built a reputation for pushing the style envelope, though never over the oh-no-you-didn't edge. Salon Director Staci Linklater has been the hairstylist to the hip since 1991 and is dedicated to providing top-shelf products, quality service and innovative looks to Globe's guests. Globe's staff is a team of enthusiastic professional stylists comprised of a remarkable number of locals, handpicked and trained by Staci to honor Globe's mission to "satisfy [your] desire to look fabulous, feel great and be treated with concern and respect."

Globe offers the full range of coiffure services, including expert color correction, extensions, braids and special event styling. It was voted Best Hair Salon/Spa for two years running by our ever-so-smart Weekly readers, and chances are you've already admired their work when Globe employees and their fashion-forward friends strut their stuff quarterly at First Fridays. Their "Vintage Holidays" look was all the rage at December's event, with styles that hearkened back to Hollywood's glamour days—the big trend that Globe says is poised for a comeback next year.

Globe also offers an array of skin services. If you don't have an hour-plus to enjoy one of their BioElements Corrective or De-stress spa facials, Globe offers a 30-minute BioExpress that will ensure you're back from lunch on time and looking refreshed.

Globe's resident Playboy bunny and cosmetic specialist Dana Dicillo uses aromatherapy wax to remove unwanted fuzz, wherever it may be. From basic to Brazilian, with playful design and color options, Dana's bikini waxes can be as creative as your imagination.

Make your appointments early and honor your New Year's resolution to be more punctual because in the future, your reservation at Globe is a hot commodity.
