When it comes to lingerie, La Perla keeps it classy

It's a fine line between sexy seductress and skanky ho. And though Vegas' aesthetic is decidedly stripper-esque, even we know when to scale it back from super slut-tastic to peekaboo party girl. Well, most of the time. Here to help keep it classy is the Italian house La Perla, best known for their fine lever laces, classically boned bustiers and jaw-dropping designs.

Opened in August, La Perla's boutique inside the Forum Shops at Caesars seems the perfect lair for one of 007's femmes fatales, with plush chocolate carpeting, winding staircase, low-lit crystal chandeliers and strategically placed mirrors. The hand-embroidered and Swarovski-encrusted bra-and-panty sets sparkle from velvet-lined display cases; on the glossy lacquer fixtures hang chiffon nighties, silk-satin-lined velour robes and teddy sets in pastel golds and palest peaches.

If racy is your brand of romance, Vegas' La Perla is one of only two locations to carry the company's black label stateside and includes pieces like the "merry widow" that require some explanation. The bralette and stocking garters are just as they appear, one continuous length of stretchy red mesh. And what's worn between? Nothing at all, hence the "merry." The lace-cuff and collar set ties on corset-style, in black-satin ribbon, with a riding crop to match.

Their ready-to-wear line is tucked away upstairs, a notably more modest collection of Roman-inspired gowns and flowered chiffons with a Victorian sensibility. The sheer lace peasant tops, knee-high crocodile boots and jewel-laden halter dresses bespeak a more subtle sensuality.

For the perfect mix of La Perla's sensibilities, look to its famous bustier—from the classic black-on-black satin jacquard to mirrored-sequin and silver-glass-beaded bodices, each equally appropriate for a candlelit boudoir or lounging in your VIP booth. Swimwear takes a similar tone, macramé tops that hint at sheerness; flirty, beaded bikinis; and one-pieces that leave surprisingly little to the imagination.

La Perla's runway show last Wednesday at Worship, Tao's weekly fashion and nightlife fusion, was a hit, judging by the hushed crowd, drooling guys and gals exchanging "must-have" glances.

Only 12 days until Valentine's ... ladies, ask if he's thinking naughty or nice; gentlemen, check her sizes and don't be bashful.
