THE DREAM ZONE

with Lauri Quinn Loewenberg

I looked at my face from the side and half my lip was missing! I was really ugly and had braces. There was drool coming off the braces because I had no lip. It was so gross! What does it mean?

Jennifer, 32

Lauri: When we look at ourselves in dreams, we're concerned about how we "appear" to others. Our dreams give us insight into our recent waking life behavior. What you see looking back at you, no matter how strange the image, is a true reflection of yourself at that time. Your dream braces tell you that you need to speak up about something to "straighten" things out. Half a lip indicates you've only been saying half of what needs to be said. Like the drool, you just gotta "spit it out!" C'mon, give it up sister! What is it you're afraid to fully say for fear it may make you look bad?

Jennifer replies: I've dated this guy for a couple of months. At first, I really liked him. But now he talks really loud in public and acts silly—it embarrasses me! I've told him shhh a couple times but he continues acting this way. You're right; I'm not sure how to tell him he's annoying me without coming across as the B word!

ARIES
(March 20-April 19)

The sun spends a few more days in Aquarius, then moves into Pisces on Saturday afternoon, so you have a new birthday to celebrate this week as your Aquarius pals say so long to the sun until next year and Pisces jumps into a month of birthday celebration. Now, more big news this week. Mars—yes, your ruling planet—has been in your second house for seven long months. This indeed was rare. Mars usually remains in a sign for seven weeks. Mars has been living in the house that rules what you value, which is also a money house, and on Friday he moves into your house of communication. OK, little ram, get ready to communicate. All your siblings are ready for chatter. This could be contract time for some of you.

TAURUS
(April 19-May 20)

Mars has visited your sign for the past seven months and this week dances into your house of money and what you value. The Red Planet remains in the sign of Gemini until April 14. Your desire for possessions is rather strong. In fact, you may use a few of your possessions to get the job done. Don't be bullheaded. I am sure nothing will gather dust while Mars visits. Share your knowledge this week. Venus gets a wink from Jupiter, the Santa of the planets. This is a great time for relationships, both business and personal, and yes indeed, a great time to join a group or club. You have much to share with the other little bulls. Saturn sends structure and Mercury, the messenger, allows you to express a few of your goals and wishes.

GEMINI
(May 21-June 21)

Mars waltzes into your sign on Saturday, and this should bring a wonderful opportunity to communicate. Three planets in your career house brings a sudden opportunity to receive recognition and talk to those in authority. Others send love. Mars is now in your sign until April 13, and this sends your team up to bat. Wear a red hat and do something with an Aries pal. Aries is ruled by Mars. You love to chat, and opportunity flows your way. With the sun in a career house this is a great time to answer messages about your daily work. This could be a week when much is accomplished. Now, while Mars is in your sign, do not pile your plate too full. Work on special projects and, yes indeed, Aquarians in your sister air sign celebrate the last of their birthday month on Saturday. Your Pisces pals are up to bat for a month. Enjoy Mars' energy. He last visited your sign in 2004, from February 3 until May 6. Use the energy wisely.

CANCER
(June 21-July 22)

Your sister water sign Pisces begins a month of birthday celebration this weekend. Until then, you still have a few days to celebrate with your Aquarian pals. Presidents' Day rolls around on Monday, and many of you little crabs may decide it is time for a journey. Remember from early February until early May 2004? Well, this, dear little crab, was when Mars last visited the sign of Gemini. Your last seven months were full—getting involved with clubs, lessons, ideas, hopes and wishes. Now get your claws into something that will benefit you. Do a little research or spend time in the library. What you did back in 2004 is a hint of what to expect until May. This brings a sudden opportunity for knowledge and travel. Listen to the message as you work on your creative side.

LEO
(July 22-Aug. 22)

Mars exits your house of career after a seven-month visit. This is one great week, little lion. Roar on. Someone may suddenly send the message you have been waiting for. Give this a few months and your answers appear. This could be a long weekend with Presidents' Day holiday on Monday. Take time out for fun and love, and bring out the inner child. Show your creative side. Back to Mars. Now this, dear little kitty, is a wonderful time to go after your goals. It is also a time to work with other people. Get out of your jungle and share your ideas with people. They will send support. Mars demands gratification. Don't take the back seat on this. Now is the time to talk to the messenger. Need a loan? The banker is very friendly, and so are people in authority. Once Mars leaves in May, it will not return for two years. Use this visit wisely. Put on your gold shoes and shoot about town.

VIRGO
(Aug. 22-Sept. 22)

So you love to detail and analyze, little Virgo. The sun leaves the genius, Aquarius, this Saturday and dances into Pisces. Now this should make you feel more comfortable. Remember, Pisces is a water sign and water keeps your earth sign alive and healthy. Yes, the elements in the universe operate the same as on Earth. With three planets in your relationship department, you will find that in both personal and business matters everyone suddenly has time to communicate. Mars also moves into your career spot. Now this kicks in the desire to achieve. It arouses your ambition. Mars is the planet of action and energy. Watch out for conflict with authority figures. Go back to early February through early May 2004. Did you encounter a conflict with a boss or anyone in authority? Use this transit for the next three months to achieve your goals.

LIBRA
(Sept. 22-Oct. 22)

Dear little peacemaker, your fellow air sign, Gemini, gets a visit from the Red Planet. Yep, Mars has been residing in your house of other people for the past seven months, and you have had the responsibility for others. Now come up for air. You are an air sign. Okay, it's been two years since the Red Planet last visited your place of higher knowledge, travel and sharing philosophy, and now it's back. Also this week, you get to talk with people about your daily work and what you value. Sing happy birthday to Aquarius, the third of you air signs. Pull out the scales and weigh a few of your creative ideas. Neptune does allow you to share a few of your dreams. The moon remains in your sign until Saturday afternoon.

SCORPIO
(Oct. 22-Nov. 22)

Okay, Mr. Detective, dig into this. Remember back in early February through May 2004? Well, that was the last time Mars visited your house of joint resources. Mars is action and energy. The Red Planet also rules that spot in your chart. Okay, you've got the idea of what to expect. Jupiter, the Santa of the planets, remains in your sign. Lucky you. This visit occurs only every 12 years. Scorpios who have children may hear from them this week. If you don't have children, you may suddenly hear from an old lover. Yes indeed, just as Mercury retrograde brings back old lovers, Uranus suddenly opens the opportunity as he and the sun and Mercury, the messenger, reside in your fourth house for the next month. Mars brings energy from others.

SAGITTARIUS
(Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

I know you are a traveler. Now, dear little Sag, you may be approaching a life peak. It is time to plant the seed. Saturn is encouraging you to get organized, grounded and practical. You are the philosopher of the zodiac and are respected for your wisdom. You suddenly receive the message you have been waiting for. Venus gets a wink from your ruling planet, Jupiter, and this, dear archer, is what you have been working on behind the scenes. Jupiter is your ace in the hole. With the sun and Mars changing signs this week, you may feel the shift of the energy. Presidents' Day comes on Monday, and a few of you may decide to take a long weekend. For you who decide to work, the moon joins your sign on Monday night and remains for three days. The moon gets together with Jupiter, Venus and Mercury. Expect the unexpected. Your team can win this ball game. Get out there and share your talent.

CAPRICORN
(Dec. 21-Jan. 21)

Jupiter waves at Venus. What a great way to begin this week, little mountain goat, as you continue to share your knowledge, hopes, wishes and ideas with someone. Mars finally makes a move this week. Mars has remained in Taurus for seven months. Now, think back to the period from early February 2004 until early May 2004. This was the last time Mars was in the sign of Gemini. The plate was full with your daily work. Neptune visited Aquarius and it was time for real-estate dealing. Yes, indeed, early 2004 was one busy time. Use the energy wisely. Mars in Gemini, the talker of the zodiac, has much to say.

AQUARIUS
(Jan. 21-Feb. 20)

Happy birthday. Babies born this Saturday are on the cusp of Aquarius and Pisces. As your birthday winds down on Saturday, Aquarius, make a wish and set a goal—something you want to accomplish over the next year. Mars enters Gemini. Yes, indeed, your sister air sign gets the pleasure of the Red Planet in her sign for the next two months. You are the genius of the zodiac, so work on your creativity. Mars loads you up with energy, so for the next two months, use it wisely. It's time for money talk as the sun, Mercury and Uranus, the planet of the unexpected, get together in Pisces. And Mercury and Jupiter also may give you the opportunity to chat about business, so career and money or value talks are on your agenda this weekend.

PISCES
(Feb. 20-March 22)

Happy birthday, little fish, as you begin your month-long celebration. The sun is moving into your sign. This is a great time for communication, and your ego suddenly lights up. Many of you little fish realize it is decision time. Jupiter brings gifts and, yes, it's birthday time. Mars creates activity around the home front for the next two months. Venus gets a nod from Jupiter. People want to share a bit of your knowledge as you travel both upstream and downstream talking about your hopes, wishes and goals. Lots of chatter is on your agenda as the week flows by. Neptune encourages you to share a few dreams with the other little fish in the school.
