Are you exceedingly artsy-fartsy? Neither are we ... so read on!

The Guggenheim Hermitage Museum at The Venetian recently rolled out the Rubens and His Age: Masters from the Hermitage Museum exhibit, giving Las Vegas a refreshing jolt of culture and a pop quiz in art history. Partnering with the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia, the Guggenheim Foundation has organized an exquisite presentation of the Flemish baroque, taking viewers back to that oft-overlooked region of today's Belgium in the early 17th century.

Peter Paul Rubens is the star of the exhibit, which is thematically divided into four sections: Mythology, Religion, Genre and Landscape, and Portraits. Works by Anthony van Dyck and Frans Snyders can also be appreciated, as can peculiar jewelry and artifacts of the time, including a 6-inch silver owl that decapitates to become a cup for drinking. See for yourself—those crazy Flemings were full of surprises.
