THE DREAM ZONE

with Lauri Quinn Loewenberg

My father passed away nine months ago. Last night I dreamed I was riding in the car with him and two of my sisters. My dad was navigator, reading a map, and told us where to go. We missed a turn, went off the road into the air and then into the water! Everyone sank into the murky lake except for me. I saw their hands reaching up out of the water. I wondered if they were going to pop up or if I was going to sink also and if I was going to have to dive in after my youngest sister.

Carolyn, Englewood, CO

Lauri: This is about your journey down "the road of life." Your father has been a navigator in your life, guiding you, advising you, helping you to go in the "direction" you want to go in life. Missing a turn means that you guys "miss" your father. To sink into murky water ... well, that's all about sinking into a depression. Interesting that everyone went down but you. You're clearly not "in too deep," not as much as your sisters are. You are managing to stay afloat emotionally. You must have a better support system around you than your sisters do, a loving husband and children, for example. Part of you wants to help "pull them out" of their overwhelming depression, but part of you is afraid they may pull you in with them. Understandable. Your dream is showing you—essentially—that they are drowning. And if that were the real-life situation ... you'd do everything you possibly could, wouldn't you?

Carolyn replies: These two sisters lived closest to my dad and have been having the hardest time since he passed. I seem to struggle emotionally as well but I do have a loving marriage with two fine grown children and that helps.

Fascinating Dream Fact: Ziggy Marley has a new album out entitled Love is My Religion, in which he sings about reconnecting with his father, the late, great Bob Marley, through his dreams.

ARIES
(March 20-April 20)

Dear little ram, I know you sometimes feel you have a full plate when you're dealing with others. Now stay focused. Mercury is retrograde and this could cause a few delays. The general election arrives on Tuesday. Trot off to the polls. Your sign is one of the signs representing politicians. The full moon occurs on Sunday in Taurus, so you may find a few of your friends a little bullheaded for a few days. Make your wish for the month before then and set a goal. I know you enjoy beginning things, but this is the time to finish what you have already started. Discuss your dreams with someone. Uranus and the sun could bring a sudden opportunity from another someone.

TAURUS
(April 20-May 21)

The sun winks at Uranus. This could mean an unexpected opportunity. Get out of the bullpen and socialize. Yes indeed, business associates and friends are there to listen. Engage in the world around you. A full moon arrives in your sign on Sunday. Now, little bull, let's not get bullheaded. Expand your energy. Talk about your ideas, hopes and wishes. Set your goals before Sunday. On Tuesday, trot off to the polls. Share your creative ideas. Saturn provides structure. On Wednesday, expect the unexpected when Mars talks with Uranus.

GEMINI
(May 21-June 21)

You love to converse, so now you can talk up election day next Tuesday. The full moon falls on Sunday. You may find a few people a little stubborn. This is okay. The moon slides into your sign on Monday. You can chat with people, and you may find them as chatty as you. You should feel comfortable with your relationships. Pluto is power and big business. Don't reveal any secrets to your co-workers this week. Neptune squares off with Mercury on Wednesday. Save your unique ideas for later. Wait until Mercury moves forward again. People in authority notice the action you take with co-workers. Opportunity flows your way.

CANCER
(June 21-July 22)

With so many planets in sister water sign Scorpio, you may find your creative self-expression growing. Yes indeed, it is blossom time. Relationships flourish and any problems with children improve. The moon's energy encourages you to express yourself when it visits on Wednesday, Mercury squares off with Neptune. Don't talk with other people about your creative ideas. The moon ends the week in your sign, little crab, and you may be chatting with your female pals. When the moon becomes full on Sunday, you may find some of your friends sort of hardheaded, but don't worry about it.

LEO
(July 23-Aug. 23)

Yes indeed, little kitty, personal growth could flow your way this week. Show people your uniqueness. The full moon occurs on Sunday. Make your wish and set a goal before that. Many of you little kitties may be working from the home front. You are building a solid foundation. On Tuesday, Mercury and Venus bring sweet news about family members. The politicians gather on Tuesday to get the voters' final word while the moon is in chatty Gemini. On Wednesday, Mercury squares off with Neptune. Now remember, little kitty, Mercury is also retrograde and his confrontation with foggy Neptune, could make this a day of confusion. If you feel the need to speak, make sure you are understood or just hold back your secrets until later.

VIRGO
(Aug. 23-Sept. 23)

You love to communicate and analyze, but keep your secrets to yourself on Wednesday. You may feel the effects of the full moon in your sister earth sign Taurus on Sunday. Sometimes we feel the full moon for up to four days later. Neptune, the planet of illusion and delusion, squares off with the messenger of the gods, Mercury, who is retrograde, on Wednesday, so this could bring confusion. Save your secrets until later. Don't try to detail or analyze. You may not have the correct information. Remain grounded. You are an earth sign. Make your wish and set a goal for the next month before the week ends.

LIBRA
(Sept. 23-Oct. 23)

The full moon arrives on Sunday. Make a wish and set a goal. Changes could flow your way. An unexpected opportunity may come from a co-worker who shares your values. On Wednesday, you may feel confused as Neptune, the fogger, and Mercury, the communications director, collide. Could be some misunderstanding with children. In the late afternoon Wednesday, the sun links up with Mercury. This weekend, plant a seed and watch it bloom next spring. Yes indeed, little peacemaker, you are on a journey to explore. Put away your little scales. The universe will bring the changes.

SCORPIO
(Oct. 23-Nov. 22)

Don't argue with family members this week while foggy Neptune takes center stage. You could find yourself digging for clues to the miscommunication, Mr. Detective. Mercury is retrograde. On Wednesday, Mars winks at Uranus and a sudden opportunity could come into play in the creative department. While the moon is in Taurus this weekend, you may want to spread a few seeds and see what sprouts. Mars in your sign, dear Scorpio, brings in much energy, so don't just sit on the sofa. Look over what you have already accomplished. Get ready to begin the new with the new moon later this month. Congratulations to you Scorpios having birthdays this week.

SAGITTARIUS
(Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

The full moon occurs on Sunday, and you may feel the energy from your co-workers. Saturn encourages you to pass on some of your knowledge. On Wednesday, keep your communication skills on the back burner. You should not give up any secrets when deceptive Neptune squares off with Mercury. Everything cools down in the late afternoon and the sun meets Mercury. Now remember, dear Sag, Mercury is retrograde. Mars, the planet of action, steps up to the plate and hits a home run. Unique news arrives on the home front.

CAPRICORN
(Dec. 22-Jan. 20)

The moon becomes full Sunday in Taurus, like you an earth sign. Remain grounded. Don't get stubborn. Tuesday is general election day, so head for the polls. Yes indeed, you do enjoy talking politics. People in authority will listen to your ideas. Now you might get a little foggy while you share your values this week. Pay attention to other people on Wednesday, because a sudden opportunity could flow your way. Fellow club members enjoy chatting as the week winds up with the moon in conversational Gemini. Continue to be involved in professional and social organizations. Listen to your dreams. Wait until later to share your values. Set your monthly goal before Sunday.

AQUARIUS
(Jan. 21-Feb. 20)

Show your uniqueness this week. The full moon arrives in Taurus on Sunday. Some of your pals may be obstinate. Neptune the fogger squares off with Venus on Monday and Mercury on Wednesday. On those two days, you do not want to talk with people in authority about your ideas. Skip off to the polls on Tuesday, general election day. Uranus, your ruling planet, is in charge of elections. On Wednesday afternoon and evening, you may receive an unexpected opportunity and you may have a chance to talk with the boss. The sun sits down with Mercury, the communicator. Keep your secrets to yourself for the next week or so. Other folks may now share your values.

PISCES
(Feb. 20-March 22)

The full moon occurs on Sunday, dear Pisces. This should bring a glow to your little lakes, ponds, rivers and seas. You have an opportunity to travel while the planets visit your fellow water sign, Scorpio. Keep your dreams to yourself, little fish. Work on the structure you need for your daily work. Now get out and about. Move around the pond. Meet more little fish. The moon moves into Gemini on Monday afternoon. This should give you a gift of gab. Discuss your values with others. Join a Scorpio friend for a birthday celebration. Mercury is retrograde. Expect a few delays. Finish all unfinished business. Old relationships that have gone sour sometimes mend themselves while Mercury is retrograde.
