Cocktail Of The Week

SIN CITY STOUT Miracle Mile $5

Justin Jimenez

A cocktail is great—even a nice spirit straight-up, neat or on the rocks is perfect for some occasions—but nothing beats a quality beer. Sure, a summertime brew would lean more toward the refreshing and citrusy Hefeweizen (which the local Sin City Brewing Company also brews), but any real connoisseur of the suds will tell you true tradition is found in the dark. Sin City brewmaster and president Richard Johnson has modeled this locally made masterpiece after an Irish Dry Stout. It’s tasty, but you have to be careful; with a strong 6 percent alcohol, it has a sneaky kick. Like a good stout does, it has a deep, coffee-like aroma with a slight chocolate aftertaste. It is a great place to start the road to beer enlightenment.
