Screw this The one-minute

Aaron Thompson

In the age of the Internet, Janet Jackson and South Park, obscenity has become an everyday occurrence of modern life. But between all the common curses heard everyday, the art of the time-honored middle-fingered salute still has a special place in the ranks of all things vulgar. This is why 101 Ways to Flip the Bird (Broadway Books, $9.95) seems to be the end-all, be-all for all things to do with everyone’s favorite salutation.

It’s filled with “screw you” styles like “The Poltergeist,” “Draw,” “Archer,” “Rock, Paper, Screw You!” and “The Vulcan,” along with humorous histories, instructions and situations in which you could use them; but the amusement factor does not make up for the insipidness and utter stupidity of this book, written by Jason Joseph and Rick Joseph. When this comes out October 9, avoid it like the plague.
