The CineVegas film festival (at the Brenden Theatres inside the Palms) is now in its ninth year, having grown to be one of the city’s most important cultural events. Under the stewardship of Trevor Groth, the festival’s director of programming, and Dennis Hopper, the chairman of the creative advisory board (as well as the Greenspun family, owners of Las Vegas Weekly’s parent company), it’s embraced a diversity of independent and classic films, along with a bit of Hollywood glamour. Turn the page for interviews with some of this year’s most exciting participants, a look back at past festival winners and a comprehensive schedule. And don’t forget to check out LasVegasWeekly.com for our CineVegas blog, up-to-the-minute reviews and video footage of festival events.
