Meet the creator. Since he’s responsible for co-creating virtually every well-known Marvel Comics character, including Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, the Hulk and Iron Man, we’ll forgive comic book legend Stan Lee some of his latter-day sins, including the Pamela Anderson cartoon Stripperella and the reality show Who Wants to be a Superhero? Since the latest Spider-Man movie opens this week, Stan the Man will be signing autographs at Comic Oasis, 3121 N. Rainbow Blvd., on May 4 from 1-2 p.m. Call 212-8885 for more info.

Rot in politically correct hell. Because you know there is something exploitative and oh-so-Jerry Springer about the very concept of midget wrestling. As they would say in Sensitivity Studies 101, it’s immoral to pit those we see as different from us against each other for our amusement. But folks, this is psycho midget wrestling, and that makes all the difference. Half Pint Brawlers at Krave nightclub, May 4. Call 836-0830 for all the sordid details.

3.

Celebrate all things queer as Gay Pride week kicks off May 5 at 6 p.m. with the Gay and Lesbian Community Center’s (953 E. Sahara Ave.) fourth annual art show. Check out some cool art and meet the artists in this annual tradition that brings some of Las Vegas’ finest works into the public eye and, best of all, makes for one helluva party.

Experience Maher. Dennis Miller can’t do it without a thesaurus. Lewis Black can’t do it without having coronaries. Al Franken can’t do it without wanting to run for office himself. In terms of A-list sociopolitical comedians, author and Real Time star Bill Maher alone still possesses the unfiltered honesty (remembered that post-9/11 “cowards” comment?) and audacity (remember that Steve Irwin Halloween costume?) that made his long-running Politically Incorrect such a rare benchmark in political programming. May 4 (11:30 p.m.) and 5 (11 p.m.), $42.50-$54.50. The Joint, 693-5066.
