Parting the water

Stacy J. Willis

The state engineer on Monday decided that the Southern Nevada Water Authority can suck almost 20 billion gallons of groundwater from White Pine County at a rate of up to 60,000 acre-feet per year—(Vegas wanted 91,000). “I think the state engineer sort of split the baby a bit.”
