Which band will smell the worst? Which singer will finish first in the “how many beers would it take” category? Who will go home with 600 condoms, courtesy of the city of New York?
Those and other burning questions will be answered at the Double Down’s first-ever “Snatchapalooza,” an American Idol parody featuring five female-fronted outfits, scheduled to do battle May 12 beginning at 10 p.m. “It’s basically the world’s loudest catfight,” says Double Down owner P Moss, who will act as the night’s Simon to go with Dirk Vermin’s Randy and DJ Rex Dart’s Paula. “We’re gonna rip the bands apart. It’s gonna be nasty.”
The bill: locals The Objex, Suite 666, Helltown Harlots and The Dirty Panties, and Los Angeles’ A Pretty Mess. As always, admission is free.
