Christ.

Blue Shift Emissions (March 6)

It takes some serious sack to call yourself Christ, even if you’re just abbreviating the first name Christopher and you’ve attached a period to the end to distinguish yourself from you-know-who. It also doesn’t hurt when you concoct heavenly electronic textures with one foot in the ambient world and the other dipped in a puddle of rhythmic IDM. The primo tracks—“Making a Snow Angel,” “Stained Century” and “Vernor Vinge”—play like soundtracks to undisturbed dreams, pulsating gently as their shadowy melodies carefully unravel. In short, Blue Shift Emissions feels like the album fellow Scotsmen and one-time Christ. collaborators Boards of Canada ought to have made when they recorded The Campfire Headphase.
