It’s possible that someday I might become tired of writing the same review for every new Innocence Mission record, but it’s unlikely as long as said review reads as follows: Even though this Innocence Mission record sounds much like the one before it, that’s not a bad thing at all. Once again, guitarist Don Peris and angel-toned singer Karen Peris have crafted a sweet, emotional set of folk songs that deserve to be called exquisite. For the uninitiated: think Mazzy Star or The Sundays with Vini Reilly on guitar, performing songs by Burt Bacharach. Every track on this album is an heirloom, whose luster and value will only increase with time.
