Oliver Under the Moon 4 stars
Somewhere between Ben Folds and Deja Entendu-era Brand New falls Pistolita, a San Diego quartet whose debut manages to combine crooning, keys, shrieking, and good ol’ rocking the f--k out. It’s earnest indie-piano pop with an aggressive edge that’s not particularly catchy, yet it’s shockingly addictive. –JS
