Are we simply biding time with Yucca Mountain? The federal government has pumped billions of dollars into its construction and design. It’s hard to imagine that this project can be killed.
I believe it can be killed. The nuclear industry is no longer convinced that this makes sense. It is clear that a lot of people are raising serious red flags. It is difficult to get the Bush administration to change course, but there are increasing doubts about Yucca, which gives a lot of ammunition to those of us who are trying to stop it.
