In a town where things rarely last 20 years, it’s surprising to be reminded that UNLV has lasted for 50. To celebrate, the Donna Beam Gallery is hosting (through September 29) Fabulous Fiftieth, a collection of works from past art faculty members Bill Leaf, David Levinthal, Lee Sido, Michael McCollum, Peter Myer and Rita Deanin Abbey (that’s her “Heart of the Flower,” right). You’ve crabbed about the lack of art in this town for so many years you forget how good we’ve had it all along. This is a fine corrective.
