The Devil in Daniel Tosh …?

Coming from someone with a Comedy Central Presents special and Bill Hicks’ former manager on his side, 2005’s True Stories I Made Up CD was somewhat lackluster. Daniel Tosh almost came across as a more malicious version of Dane Cook. Then came his incendiary performance at the 2006 Comedy Festival and 2007’s DVD Completely Serious, both of which showcased a new and remarkably improved Tosh, one with more edge, a more defined (and demonically twisted) outlook and the ability to turn over new material with a supernatural speed on par with Festmate Dave Attell. Did he sell his soul? Conjure up some killer comedy? Either way, if these last few years have been any indication, the dude has only begun to reach his creative peak. Too bad he might spend an eternity paying for it ... –Julie Seabaugh
