Rapper delight: Kendrick Lamar performs January 9 at Light.

Kendrick Lamar and Axwell at Light Throw a Beats by Dre party and you get a (Dr.) Dre protege to appear. Complementing the DJ set by Light resident Axwell will be a performance by rapper Kendrick Lamar, one of hip-hop’s latest commercial breakthroughs. A word to the wise: Leave your headphones at home. January 9, doors at 10:30 p.m., $40 men, $20 women.

Rock ’n Roll Wine Lounge at Ghostbar Rock ’n Roll Wine kicks off its 2014 weekly wine lounge series atop the Palms Thursday evening. Enjoy complimentary pours of the company’s Rhapsody and Grotto blends from 6-8 p.m. and beats by Palms resident DJ Seany Mac throughout the wino gathering. January 9, doors at 6 p.m., free with RSVP at rnrwine.com.

Juicy J at Tao To paraphrase Juicy J, bandz a make the club rats dance Thursday night, when the rapper hosts a Soul Electronics party at the Venetian nightclub. It might be a headphone company’s party, but here’s hoping Juicy isn’t shy on the microphone during this special edition of Tao’s Worship industry night. January 9, doors at 10 p.m., $30 men, $20 women.

Dash Berlin at Marquee It was nearly three years ago that Perfecto at Rain—the first Vegas nightlife resident party of the EDM era—was booking then-upstart Dash Berlin. Marquee eventually swooped up the man born Jeffrey Sutorius and delivered him to a new home, where he’s remained ever since. He’s also still in the DJ Mag Top 10 DJs list, which is either a testament to the enduring popularity of Dutch trance ... or Berlin himself. January 10, doors at 10 p.m., $40 men, $20 women.

Top Hat Saturdays at Velveteen Rabbit Pretty soon we’re going to run out of fingers during our count of Downtown spots that feature house and eclectic dance music—and we mean the good kind. Midnight Affair and Totescity are the musical captains of Velveteen Rabbit’s sweet biweekly party Top Hat. Speaking of sweet: Peace Love & Pastry will be present to offer its confections, and the bar itself has recently debuted its winter cocktail menu. January 11, 9 p.m., free.

XIV Vegas Sessions: Winter Wonderland at Hyde The Bellagio nightspot’s monthly fun-loving and fabulous bash is back Sunday night with a wintry twist. This weekend’s temperatures should be mild, but why not get creative with your clubwear? There are only so many opportunities to wear earmuffs with stilettos, people. January 12, doors at 6 p.m., $50 men, $40 women.

Church: Black Party at Beauty Bar Further subverting both its moniker and nightlife tradition, bass music monthly Church: Las Vegas Bass Worship is taking a cue from the “white party” concept and going black. Yes, patrons are encouraged to dress head to toe in their darkest duds while they take in the featured DJs, MCs, dancers and artists (some of whom will be live body painting), including headliner Lank from New Mexico. January 12, doors at 10 p.m., free.

Jus Ske at Surrender Jay Z’s official tour DJ spends a night behind Surrender’s booth during the Encore club’s Jus 4 Kix party. Ditch your dress shoes Wednesday night and opt for your freshest pair of kicks, as an Instagram sneaker contest completes the footwear-focused fête. January 15, doors at 10:30 p.m., $42 men, $32 women.
